This makes me miss the days when I just cringed at photos that had been resized without locking the aspect ratio. Clear sign of the presenter’s actual work!
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

We caught a Wayfair Black Friday commercial and my husband deadpanned “does that mean I can get the $50,000 Epstein cabinet for 80% off” and wow did that make me miss Reply All. The Wayfair/Moldy Jam episode also had a Jason Mantzoukas segment, one of my faves!

Did anyone else accidentally sing the second line of “It Wasn’t Me” in front of their kid during the Thanksgiving Day Parade, even though Shaggy skipped over it, just from muscle memory? Just me?

Wouldn’t it be delightful if he just donated this money to scholarships? /Pollyanna
5:45 pm on Thanksgiving Eve?

Now THIS is how you news dump.

We don’t travel for Thanksgiving anymore - we order in catering from the local market, hang out watching the parade and football, and (weather permitting) playing outside, just enjoying our little family of 3!
Actually in the spirit of this conversation, what’s a decision you made about a past Thanksgiving holiday that really paid off? I think people often feel trapped by their lives. Sharing our experiences can liberate us from that sense of claustrophobia.
On the most recent episode of VIBE CHECK, we answer listener questions about Thanksgiving, most importantly “do you go celebrate with the family members you don’t even like?”

Entering the turkey discourse with a controversial take: I will often get a turkey burger if I’m ordering a burger because the toppings are the best part and I find it to be a more neutral starting point to amp up everything else that goes on the burger.

I will admit I did not have high hopes for the @pwhlsirens.bsky.social tonight but wow, they delivered! Hope this is a harbinger of things to come this year. #PWHL

My kid has been into old cartoons on MeTV Toons lately so I guess today we’re watching a cartoon about historical figures that I had never heard of before (Histeria!) - they actually don’t sanewash Stalin at all. And they got to use the “E/I” label!

Outerbridge Crossing, a bridge that joins Staten Island to NJ, is actually named after someone: Eugenius Harvey Outerbridge.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

The kids section of the library has some hidden gems! Not as good as @jonbois.bsky.social Pretty Good documentary but yes, this children’s book does mention the rat poison and egg whites.

My dissertation chair said my rough draft was great, and that she included comments on an attached file. I cannot bring myself to open up the attached file because that means I have more work to do…

I wonder if they will require him to submit the text of his motivational locker room speeches to the TAMU president to make sure they’re in ideological alignment. Guessing that “perk” is reserved for faculty only, though.
Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is finalizing a new contract with the school, a source tells The Athletic.

The six-year deal is worth more than $10 million annually and will make him a top-five paid coach in college football.

I can’t make it “all the way” to Pawtucket tonight* for the watch party, so trying to figure out which bars & restaurants near me might carry the RIFC game and it‘s not easy! #USLChampionship

*Yes this is very RI of me but also I truly don’t have the babysitter for long enough to make that trip.

At the risk of sounding like a history nerd, Garfield has been one of my fave presidents since I read Kenneth Ackerman’s “Dark Horse“. I’m so excited for people to join the ranks of Garfield fans after watching Death by Lightning! To me, he is the original “gosh, what might have been” president.

“This is 28# paper too,” my husband laments as he wonders why some of our mail came with a fully blank page inside. This is why we work so well together.

This was part of the plot of a Pushing Daisies episode but Joel McHale‘s character was much more endearing than TB.
Tom Brady revealed that his new dog, Junie, is a clone of his family’s previous dog, Lua, in an interview with People Magazine on Tuesday 🐾

Brady is an investor in biotech company Colossal, which created the clone shortly after Lua’s death.

This is a fun chart!

The green is the main bsky load balancer traffic throughput from Saturday night, and the purple is how much traffic there was 7 days before (the previous Saturday)

The spike is due to the world series - pretty incredible! ⚾

I love watching the #TCSNYCMarathon, it’s so inspirational for someone who is absolutely not a runner. I miss being able to watch from my fire escape, but watching on TV is fun too.
