My kid has been into old cartoons on MeTV Toons lately so I guess today we’re watching a cartoon about historical figures that I had never heard of before (Histeria!) - they actually don’t sanewash Stalin at all. And they got to use the “E/I” label!

The kids section of the library has some hidden gems! Not as good as @jonbois.bsky.social Pretty Good documentary but yes, this children’s book does mention the rat poison and egg whites.

Got our favorite local place to throw it on 🙌. Love that the lineup for both teams is sponsored by Iron City Light for some reason. #RIFC #USLChampionship

Also really excited to dig into the surprise bonus/free book I got when I ordered Pat Barker’s Regeneration Trilogy for a reread after almost 20 years from a small business bookshop I found on insta last year.

My husband is doing the trick-or-treating with our kid this year so I’m on candy duty for the first time since 2019!

I love that disposable cameras give even the most minor weekend adventure a retro vibe, but $13 to develop single prints + a CD? That’s too much!

I bought a Diogo Jota shirt (for charity!); I do not blame @lfcbot.bsky.social for being slow in getting it shipped due to demand, but now I owe an extra $60 due to tariffs 🫠. You’ve got to be kidding me.

Giving myself a full two week break after I hand in my last assignment for my last class (!) and before I dig into dissertation writing in earnest. Can I finish 2/3 of these and start the third in those two weeks? Time will tell. #booksky

We have been coming to Newport Polo for close to a decade. This was the first time we had a timeout where a player got *literal stiches* on his face on the field so he could keep playing. They are amazing!

I have been influenced by the internet aka @mikegolicjr.bsky.social. These are delightful—would have gone for the brown sugar/cinnamon but knew strawberry would be a slam dunk for the five-year-old food critic in my house.

Feeling that end-of-vacation sadness, in denial that it is back to work tomorrow. Bring me back to the mountains so this kid can take more photos with his “supposable camera”.

Four perfect albums from the year you turned 16.

Touched some grass today - well, more like a brook and small waterfalls, but that’s even better. #MorningWalk

Very excited that my copy of @drkevinrmcclure.com’s The Caring University has arrived! Looking forward to reading it both for my work life and for my dissertation life.

Fine, then I *guess* I will pass it on to colleagues instead of keeping it on my personal bookshelf…

An AI assistant just called to remind me of my upcoming appointment and they had a nice chat with their own prompt menu in my voicemails. This works so well, much better than the regular text reminders I’ve gotten in the past. Sigh.

The amount of secondhand books I buy is proportionate to the stress I feel about the world, so adding these to the shelves at the perfect time. Support indie bookstores please! #BookSky

Pondering the state of the world at the local winery did not solve any problems but it was nice nevertheless.

I loved the Pop 200s tour tonight w/Ryan Cabrera, BBMak, LFO and O-Town but sitting back in the mid-2000s felt very real in a lot of ways today.

Gowanus has a lot of tall buildings now and some green space - it looks much different than when I lived here, but then again, I did move nine years ago 😳.

So glad I got to see Liverpool in Philly last summer - so many questions and unknowns, and a feeling of trepidation about Slot, but what a happy ending 👑.
