People across the world will likely spend the end of the year revisiting or newly discovering Reiner's art. When the other one dies, people will be looking for places to party and then they'll put him out of their minds.

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

I really think we should do a whole series about facts like this:

Have you noticed that poison ivy seems worse and itchier?

It's not your imagination. It's Climate Change.

PLEASE don't let people get away with using AI as a source. I've seen too many screenshots of Google AI answers instead of links to articles or papers. Context collapse happens so incredibly quickly because people take whatever perspective they're handed instead of using their own.

I actually dislike the term 'filter bubble' because it suggests that it's a passive process, that it's just occlusion – there's all kinds of material out there and the algorithm only lets you see some of it. When in reality, 'algorithms' are dominant participants in the *creation* of content.

damn, maybe i should give arcade games a shot...
It’s incredible how it took me literally decades to realize that once you remove the whiff of financial exploitation from classically-designed arcade games (i.e. free credits, any costs paid up-front for all future play) they address virtually every major issue I have with most video game design.

If you use Firefox:

Go into Settings, in the search bar type "Sidebar" and select "Show Sidebar." At the bottom of the sidebar, click "Customize Sidebar" (the little gear icon) and un-check the "AI Chatbot" box.

The only reason you assassinate every Al Jazeera journalist left in Gaza is because you don’t want anyone to document the genocide you are about to accelerate.

Any politician and any journalist who cannot call this genocide for what it is, is complicit, and I hope history remembers you as such.

Look you just have to make the cool weird shit that excites you. You must. In this world besieged by bland, scrubbed boring, computer slop, you must. horrifying, but it does explain why I occasionally run into people who get very mad at me over things they think i said instead of things i actually said

Hey. I've written a new article.

One of the difficulties in talking about "how can we do something better" is that it means we gotta talk about what isn't going well.

I wrote this in the hopes that reading it would give you tools to write work you're proud of.
