I don’t see any way in which social media was not a net geopolitical boon for autocracies, yeah. They can flood our information space with industrial scale bullshit, augmenting the already trust-eroding properties of social media and just block the shit at home. It’s extremely bad.

It’s that fucking airplane meme and I’m sorry but it’s a massive blind spot among a certain kind of person on the left. You only remember the protests that “won”. It’s common for protestors to eat shit and lose both short and long term.
I think the core problem here is that “the protests of the 1960s” cover everything from MLK to the Weathermen, some succeeded, some failed miserably, and all except the right wing ones failed to fully consolidate whatever gains were won because the hoes got scared and elected Nixon.
People have absolutely no idea what protests were like in the 60s

I'm a good worker in that I get very emotionally invested in the work product that I'm making, even when I know I shouldn't care. I'm a bad worker in that I'm not actually good at things. So I won't hit the goals you give me, but you can rest easy knowing I feel terrible about it.

I've been thinking recently that I don't like how people view sensitivity. Some of the most sensitive people are right-wingers (just mention LGBT around them lmao) and yet it is used in a sense similar to the attached meme. I hardly ever see it used in good contexts.

I feel like getting over depression and confidence issues is less "you just have to realize you're keeping yourself unhappy" and more like one day you realize all the doors are open, the boundaries are gone, and you're finally free but can't pinpoint when the pain really left.

Starting to think some of the most politically useful things are those which target egregores but the issue is that when the other egregores start seeing anti-egregore weaponry they get scared and defensive.

I recently made gochujang chicken + kimchi fried rice and a deep dish pizza using thai curry paste. There are some things I want to make but I need eggs and they are too expensive 😭 I do want to get better at making dahl though so I might do that soon.

It's really neat hearing about protest culture in other countries. I love this post specifically and think it captures a lot of the flow of the political aether.
it made me notice that the American left is so accustomed to police violence that it has given up on *succeeding to be safe* and has capitulated to violent/peaceful dichotomy in its own way --- if there is no violence, it's useless lib shit
