Our colorist on Infinity Train, when first given the gohm design, colored it various shades of dark gray so you could see all the shapes within it. I said no, make it as black as you can, so you can't really understand the shapes, because I was thinking of my memory of these guys from Willow on VHS

This has lead to a bottleneck in which established voices can make their dream projects, while new & diverse voices are struggling to get noticed, read, or their writing sold. I've never seen anything like it in my 25 years in the business. If things were hard for you before, they're even harder now

Nothing in media is as fun anymore. Like KPopDH is a bright spot and there have been some great films this year, but you can feel the oppression. The struggle to get it made and seen. The struggle to push away the darkness for a few hours. Maybe it’s just me.

As an American, I can’t even imagine what it’s like to have access to public arts funding. Every grant I’ve ever received (few as they are) all came from outside the US.
I wonder why all these great indie games are coming out of Australia where they have a massive public funding effort for videogame creators
