An I the only person alarmed that the U.S. military thinks a “show of presence” of heavily armed soldiers in a park in Los Angeles where kids play soccer is just fine and dandy?
Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.

VP Vance has cast the deciding vote in the Senate to cut Medicaid, take away food assistance, blow up the deficit, and add tax breaks for the wealthiest.

This bill is unpopular because it is wrong.

Congress votes this week, but it’s our voices - and our votes - that will have the final say.

Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.

Trump calls for deporting US citizens: "We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time ... many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too, if you want to know the truth. So maybe that'll be the next job."

Project 2025 called for cutting FEMA and disaster aid.

Why is this a surprise to anyone?

This was their plan.
FEMA has blown through a May deadline to open up an application for states to apply for grants. The delay appears to have little precedent.

“There’s no transparency on why it’s not happening,” said a former FEMA chief of staff.
States Fear Uncertain Future of FEMA Grants Under Trump
Many states rely on the federal government for the vast majority of their emergency management funding. Now, local leaders are looking for clues about the money — and the future of FEMA itself.

Don’t get it twisted—today’s SCOTUS ruling makes it harder for courts to fully block dangerous policies like Trump’s attack on birthright citizenship.

Once again, they’re bending the law to serve him instead of defending the Constitution.

It’s shameful.

New in PN: Trump's secret police are terrorizing American streets

"The scenes of aggressive, masked agents roughing people up are reminiscent of the world’s most authoritarian regimes, where police and the military act with impunity against citizens."

DISASTROUS. This means they will send people to horrific situations with no due process — in direct violation of promises the Solicitor General made to the Court in previous cases.

This greenlights sending people to be enslaved in Libya or tortured in any random foreign country.

American military forces in Iraq and Syria are now in harms way.

Add this up to the entire undocumented population and they could be demanding hundreds of billions in fees overall.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.
Whoa! NYC mayoral candidate and current city Comptroller Brad Lander seemingly arrested at the NYC immigration court while attending to escort someone attending their hearing.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again.

To be clear, Judge Young is ruling that the NIH terminations were neither "reasoned" nor "reasonable" based on the legal standard previously set forth by the Supreme Court for reviewing agency actions (e.g., terminations) under the APA.

This is very good for plaintiffs.
