This - I I’ve watched programs about people putting everything on the line to rescue people from the Nazis. I’ve watched on TV and online as people in Chicago, Minneapolis, and elsewhere have struggle to protect their neighbors and friends from the ICE monsters.

You cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

This right here....though I'd go so far as to say they wouldn't be moved by ANY abuse or murdering of their fellow humans.
The people who are not moved by children being massacred in school shootings because of the policies they support will not be moved by a white mother being killed by authorities either. That’s effortless for them.
