Not to be a bitch but I can't stand listening to RFK jr. I can't listen to anyone actually. I can't even look at them without my face contorting on its own. To all my trans and neurospicy people, the world is a better place with you here. I love you endlessly. You matter so much. Don't forget it.

Good morning.

Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors.

It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

Things I learned today that I'm horrified about:
- $20 MILLION!!! Spent on keeping 400 migrants in a detention center without due process in inhumane conditions.
- The woman in Georgia who got charged for having a miscarriage.
What gave me hope today:
- April 5 protest.
- Cory Booker speaking up.

So much has changed in 3 months. I've lost 2 friends, my POTS symptoms are getting worse, and my hysterectomy is 2 months away. I'm trying to focus on everyday things like work, but it's becoming incredibly more difficult. Everything is dystopian and weird.

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

I want to be clear. Im afraid of this new administration. As someone with CIN 3 HSIL pre cancer, I am most afraid of RFK Jr. He spreads misinformation about the HPV vaccine and is an active threat against me and millions like myself. I need leaders who I can trust and he is not on my list.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

Recently bought a #nikon and wirelessly transferred photos to my phone. It changed the quality but it doesn't matter because this is Oreo and she's the love of my life.

Absolutely and totally agree.

I actually wrote about this and how to address it in the piece right before this one.

As I read others' election analysis that they've written, I've come to terms with how cut and dry mine is. It was totally on purpose too. I could've added my own personality to it, but that would've have made it more fluffy with more bias. Thoughts from a #writer 💭

I think a lot of US election commentary effectively Red Waved itself--basing analysis on immediate outcome rather than a review of Trump's 1.6% margin and failure to break 50%.
Nothing at the moment is driving me quite as nuts as the folks who are earnestly preaching how Dems must reignite themselves because of their election “disaster.” On what planet? Trump edged out a candidate who had only 15 weeks to campaign and who was running against a global anti incumbent trend.

Democratic turnout in California dipped by more than 10% compared to the 2020 election, while Trump received roughly the same number of votes he did in 2020, per @sfchronicle.com's analysis of data from California Secretary of State's office.

California swung right this election. But not because more people voted for Trump
California swung right by one of the largest margins nationwide. But the numbers reveal a different pattern than in much of the rest of the country.

We didn’t lose this election because of our support for trans people. That’s just silly analysis. And marginalized people need our support now more than ever.

This is probably the best post-election analysis you will read and I definitely recommend reading it and learning from it.
New piece.

A long deep dive piece into the reasons beyond the punditry and headlines as to why Harris and Democrats as a whole failed in 2024.

I firmly believe this is about far more existential, psychological, and structural reasons than it has been depicted as. Here’s why.
The Deeper Reasons Democrats Lost
It wasn't just that Trump got more votes. It wasn't just that Harris had lower turnout. A deep dive into the psychological, existential, and systemic reasons Harris and Democrats didn't win in 2024.

The most challenging writing task I've ever done was rewriting my election analysis to be as non-partisan as I could make it. Without the fluff or bias. Just facts. No wonder mass media has no problem spitting out article after article—it's SO MUCH easier to write negativity or positivity.

Whaddup council! I wrote a #nonpartisan #election #analysis recently. It helped me process the utter chaos that has unfolded in the past month, and even going back to 2016. If you like reading others' analysis, feel free to check mine out 🥳
