One of humanity’s best ideas ever was taking the darkest time of the year, as cold temperatures set in, and doing celebrations with lights, loved ones, generosity, and food.

Various cultures independently came up with something along those lines, and others picked it up.

Fantastic idea, people.

"the issue isn’t that we need more 'boy-friendly' reforms. It’s that boys are socialized to compete only with boys and to read girls’ success as illegitimate or emasculating. The result is dissonance, resentment, and disengagement for boys—and hostile climates for girls."

RFK Jr. rolled out that old chestnut again about how healthy Americans were in the 60’s, so here’s a fact check.

In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now.

-Overall life expectancy was 70 years; it's about 77 years now.

Global solar deployment hit 380 GW in H1-2025 — 64% more than last year! It took until September to reach 350 GW in 2024. In 2025, we got there by June. This isn’t just a China story—it’s 🌍. Each year we add more, faster. No orange idiot or petrostate can stop exponential change. #EnergyTransition

Right-on-red was a bad idea in the US that has resulted in a lot of needless injury and death. Australia shouldn't copy this policy.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has launched a renewed push to allow drivers to turn left at some red lights in Brisbane, which he spruiked as a practical solution to get congested traffic moving.

The Lord Mayor said the change would help keep traffic moving and “bring Queensland’s road rules into the 21st century”.

They just have to look at the Bill of Rights and ask a political scientists if they are confused. It’s not “explicit”
because it’s not his authority to have.
This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.
