Q: What did Trump's team say when you told them that you can't just take over a nation? Did they appreciate that perspective?

This. I am done returning to the status quo of what got us here. I want universal healthcare. I want a maximum wage tied to the minimum wage. I want omnipresent, cheap public transit and walkable neighborhoods. I want Supreme Court and police reform, and I want the rich to pay their fair share.
We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

BESSENT: I don't know. The Obamas contract with Netflix, is that appropriate?

SORKIN: My understanding is that came after he was president. That's the distinction

I wasn't thrilled when BIll agreed to this debate, but it did provide us with this absolute banger of an exchange showing the difference between science and firewalled faith in nonsense.
A few years ago, Bill Nye the science guy debated creationist Ken Ham about evolution. The last question was "what would change your mind?"

Bill Nye said "Evidence."

Ken Ham said "Nothing can possibly change my mind about this."

I think about that a lot.

Trump calls human beings “vermin,” “garbage,” “diseases,” “poison,” and “animals.”

Then, when I rightfully point out that the same dehumanizing language has been used by fascist regimes to justify humanity’s worst atrocities—Republicans lose their minds.

Give me a break.

Interesting. Even though Behn lost yesterday in Tennessee, she saw a huge swing blue in that district, losing by far less than you'd expect for a +22 Trump area. Any Republican in a less than +15 point district should be very nervous about keeping their job. Voting for ACA extention would help.
BREAKING: All House Democrats have signed our discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits.

That makes 214.

We can protect health care and lower costs — if only 4 Republicans will join us.
