I know its obvious but I cant help but think RE9 will be an unremarkable middle ground between horror and action. RE2R but with roundhouse kicks wont cut it.

DOOM, now it would be Dishonored 2 I think. Would need to replay DOOM tho. It's just the level design ambition of Dishonored 2 pays off in spades

DOOM, now it would be Dishonored 2 I think. Would need to replay DOOM tho. It's just the level design ambition of Dishonored 2 pays off in spades
If the PS3 had a wrap up i'd have way more gamer cred. As it stands this banger is pretty much all I played on PS4.

I'm reminded of MH Wilds doubling down on making the first 20+ hours an implicit tutorial for newcomers even though Worlds and Rise sold so much and guaranteed Wilds would have an install base of at least seven million experienced players. Not every game can be an entrypoint in a series/genre!
I'll keep saying this over & over - nobody got into shmups to play novice modes. They got into them because they saw Hibachi, Larsa, an Ikaruga double play or something like that. Devs gotta be confident & have a punk attitude & spend less time thinking about novices

Some modern STGs are conscious of possibly being anyone's first arcade scrolling shooter, and bend themselves into knots trying to be an entire genre tutorial before being their own identifiable game.

The way people dismiss mechanics in describing games that are sequels shock me. I feel like the PS2 era was way more open to a mechanical iteration/alteration as the justification of a new entry.

These guys are such pathetic and cowardly sacks of shit.
I've only finished normal but found this to be impressively robust in the degree each attack/grab presents a chance to reposition. It also has blindingly good pacing, pick up The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors if you are up for a game you can blast through (it's on sale on switch btw).
