RIP Shunsaku Tamiya, age 90, the chairman of legendary modelmaker Tamiya. He didn't found the company, but started working there in 1958, just four years after its founding, and helped it shift from its original line of wooden models into the plastic kits it is so well known for today.

even though i could, I dont usually post President Lupercal jokes about most events like the current big ugly bill or ICE raids or the other awful things going on because making them satirical might look like minimizing or excusing them. suffice to say the news makes me furious on a daily basis.

many, MANY years ago this book taught me how to paint: Heroes for Wargames by Stewart Parkinson. plenty of awesome vintage John Blanche artwork and Jes Goodwin designs, including early space marines and Skaven. @jordansorcery.bsky.social or others into Oldhammer might want to track down a copy.
