Known for bold raids on urban bins, raccoons are becoming more domesticated – so how they look will gradually change, says science writer Helen Pilcher

Breasts have always been political – and right now they’re front and centre again. Is it yet another way in which Trump’s worldview is reshaping the culture?

X is broken. Latest tweet in my feed from an hour ago. The war won’t be live-streamed? Is that it? Or is it the multiple protests in the US?

It’s the way his voice broke when he said “imagine what they’re doing to farmworkers” 😣😣

As the granddaughter of migrant farmworkers and an immigration expert, I have this exact fear. They’re kidnapping and abusing our loved ones. How else are we expected to respond?

Thank you, @padilla.senate.gov
Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

So, interestingly everyone was complaining about the X algorithm and how their feeds were infected. Mine was not except by ads and I rarely encountered trolls despite my « woke » politics. However I have noticed since the weekend that my IG is now polluted by MAGA and Musk stuff!

This is the death of expertise. It's mob rule by the dumbest idiots on Twitter over what spending should get cut in demagogic fashion devoid of logic, reason, or rational thinking. It's a spectacle to divert attention from the looting of the public by unelected oligarchs.

The top driver of deforestation in the Amazon, and also globally, is our appetite for meat.
For most people in the Global North, shifting food choices to/towards plant-based diets is the most potent action to address the ecological, climate & public health crises www.theguardian.com/environment/...
New study:
"Extreme weather events such as wildfires and droughts will accelerate change in stressed systems leading to quicker tipping points of ecological decline".
For instance the Amazon ecosystem is likely to collapse sooner than predicted by the IPCC.

People still dining in restaurants, especially during this newest and second-highest COVID surge confuses me. An airborne virus isn't going to give you thirty minutes to dip your roll in mashed potatoes. An airborne virus doesn't care.

Having just postponed a visit from a niece I have not seen irl in 8 years to spring/summer because I found out her last COVID vaccine (#2) was some 2 years ago and she never wears a mask… with a musician father playing gigs in bars and a mother working as a nurse in a hospital… makes me so mad!
