It’s very simple IMHO. Chuck looks at Republicans and sees his Senate work buddies. Bill looks at them and sees people who pretended to be his friends and lied to his fucking face about supporting every principle he holds sacred for years. This is because Bill is smarter and has self respect.

this is such good news. i think it is also an opportunity for democrats to state forthrightly that when they win power again everyone responsible for this crime will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and will face the american people to answer for their lawlessness

I absolutely think the key factor leading to this horror show has been total US failure to meaningfully prosecute white collar crime
Perhaps the biggest failing over the past 3 decades was the refusal to agressively prosecute white collar financial crime. Musk should be in jail for stock fraud is just the biggest example.
