Been a tough month for my dog, Rocky. He had a spinal stroke on Thanksgiving and we’ve been hitting rehab hard ever since. But he’s got the heart of a lion. He might just make it. Here’s us on our way this morning. Let’s all make 2026 a whole lot better for all of us!

i get automatic linkedin emails to my work address and i got one today talking about people's "fear" of AI in art ?? it's not fear, it's knowing that gen AI is a plagiarism machine that actively drains society of material resources & not wanting to support it. what is so hard for them to understand?

Oh. Sorry, Truman.
Netanyahu: We've never had a friend like President Trump in the White House. It's not even close. I think Israel is very blessed to have President Trump leading the United States.

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Amazing!
The actor Michael Sheen used all his money to start a fake debt collecting business, buy 900 people in Wales's debt, and excused it. If Musk bought ALL $194 billion in medical debt in the U.S. and excused it in the same way, he'd still be the world's riches man by hundreds of billions of dollars.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

This kind of viewpoint is, to me, an example of what's wrong with political "thinkers." Everything is but a single move in some grand chess game and nothing on its own is ever right or wrong.

A person working at a store spewed vile racism at customers & got fired. That was the right thing to do.
I wrote about why we should not celebrate someone losing their job, especially in today’s America, even when they’ve done terrible racist things.

Losing a job should also be harder and involve workers’ bodies not unilateral management decisions.

I don't care if you think that AI can do some really nifty things. It's being rammed down our throats by obscenely wealthy men who are also, obviously, both dangerously right-wing and mentally unstable, and no rational society should be allowing that to happen. End of discussion.

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.
