He needs to be entirely removed from leadership instantly. He's voting to give Trump infinite power in writing and makes any opposition through courts entirely impossible as well.
Schumer’s calculus is that the real fight and leverage is in the courtroom, where Congress’s prerogatives have been winning and slowing the Trump/Musk move to dismantle agencies. And that a shutdown would effectively moot those cases and let them eviscerate govt faster.
