As a country, we need to understand and address WHY we have tolerated a political party that believes that the country is full of 'undesirables' that the government is entitled to terrorize, exclude, and expel from society. They act now because they can, but they've built permission over decades.

Looks like we can add "hors de combat" to the list of legal terms Americans are obliged to learn, thanks to the crimes of its govt, along with "emoluments", "rendition","impoundment", and "inidicted co-conspirator".

What legal terms have you been exposed to thanks to a lawless administration?

If and when the pipe bomb suspect asks for a pardon, what is Trump to say? Can’t do it because you were violent? Unlike Enrique Tarrio or Stewart Rhodes or multiple assailants who physically attacked capitol police, used stun guns, flagpoles, etc? Completely exposes Trump’s viciousness and hypocrisy.

It's worth noting, for those who *do* have a legitimate procedural/rule-of-law objection to illegal immigration, that Trump is not acting on that idea; he's acting on can only be called nativism and xenophobia. lnk.thebulwark.com/48vef8l
Now Trump Is Threatening Naturalized Americans
He’s not just bashing refugees and illegal immigrants. He’s going after U.S. citizens born in other countries.

Our immigration policy is now based on what Stephen Miller assumes are the inherent racial qualities of each group: Chinese people and Asians are untrustworthy and suspicious; Latinos are criminals and drug smugglers; black people are stupid and lazy; white people are hard-working and virtuous.

There are specific reasons Trumpists want war on Venezuela, but there‘s a generic one: they crave power to make war on anyone, any time, for completely fabricated reasons, and then to use the guise of war to increase violence and repression everywhere, including home.

They are lawless bestial scum.

Dems Reward the Hostage-Taker
Perhaps ending the shutdown was the responsible thing to do. But by caving, Democrats risk legitimizing Trump’s maximum-pain shutdown tactics.

The shutdown had democrats accidentally doing what they should have been doing for most of the year - bringing a stop to regular business in protest of Trump admin lawlessness and Johnson's constant rule-breaking. Did they forget DOGE, Or ICE? Has Grijalva been sworn in, or impounded funds restored?
💯. It wasn't about just the ACA subsides—it was about those and … everything else.

Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.
