Thanks for being in community with me!
When I moved out of my old house in 2023 I got rid of all my cheap Christmas decorations because I just wasn't in the mood for celebrating holidays 😒😂 but this year I might get a high quality tree that can just be a permanent fixture in my living room & I change out the memories for decorations!? 😍
It's now officially acceptable to start your Christmas decorations okay? 😮‍💨😉🎄🤶🏾🌟

I despise the way people cheer for billionaire charity. Saying “thanks for finally doing the bare minimum at no real cost to you” is one thing.
But applauding the crumbs they give while they hoard untaxed wealth taken from the rest of us just keeps them unaccountable. Let's tax the rich instead! 🙄

As one of the few Blacktinas in local politics, I’m used to being judged a certain way because of who I am, and it’s honestly disgusting to see some of the hateful messages directed at my colleagues. Be better!
Attacking women's appearances to silence their voices is misogyny.

The moderator asked me on this panel "what is the number one thing we need to do to fight climate change?" and I said "tax the rich and make polluters pay" LOL 🤷🏾‍♀️ everyone clapped because it's true!!!
Just got home from the National League of Cities conference in Salt Lake City, Utah 💼✈️

My favorite part about being elected is the opportunity to learn from leaders across the country doing remarkable things for their communities! 🥺 It truly inspires me! & I come back with new ideas & friends! 🥰

After seeing all the discourse all I have to say is this: bodies are extremely personal & off limits. I've been on a weight rollercoaster my whole life due to trauma, poverty, & genetics. Disagree with me all you want but once you start talking about my body you're getting blocked. Stop being cruel!

I think it’s honestly disgusting and deeply unserious that the Revoke the Permit people have clipped videos of my women colleagues eating pizza at the dais as some kind of shaming tool, which is now being used by right-wing media to harass them in misogynistic ways. Congrats everyone.

I want to be clear about what the detention impact fee proposal, introduced by Councilors Morillo and Green, is designed to do. This isn’t a revenue tool — it’s a deterrence tool.

It was inspiring to hear the difference Portland Street Response is making in the lives of those most vulnerable in our city at the East Portland PSR Town Hall. In the short period since PSR has scaled up their programs, more Portlanders are receiving the right responder at the right time.

When other cities are having to cut climate programs back, Portland is only scaling up! That’s why we can’t let PCEF be raided to plug other budget holes.
