Hi, I’m Cameo, an Emmy-winning filmmaker and advocate for arts and community. I directed Real Artists, and co-founded the COVEN Film Fest. On the boards of The Roxie, BAYCAT, SF Bee-Cause, and KWMR. Nerd about Immersive, Star Wars, Ergodic Lit, Fine Dining, Ostension, Ritual, Play, & Liminality.
I stopped using Google entirely in 2015—and it hasn’t been convenient or easy to do, but I don’t trust a company built on surveilling people for profit. Their history shows that the “do no evil” slogan was a marketing tactic, not a promise.
Another day, another situation where people assume everyone will use google and meta for expensive educational opportunities. I guess I need to add “Cannot use Meta or Google. If that’s a requirement for this opportunity, please inform me so I can rescind my expression of interest”

My hotel room lost heat today. It got all the way down to 47 degrees F today. Now it’s at 61 which is still cold, but tolerable. Really don’t want to pack and move hotels at midnight in this weather. >.<

New research reports that cats meow more frequently when greeting male owners. It’s hypothesized that men “require more explicit vocalizations to notice and respond to the needs of their cats.” In other words, the researchers are suggesting that many cats have concluded that men don’t always listen
