Making an art about grief today. It is sky blue. Not because of the trope, but now I see that maybe that trope exists for a reason. I just always thought it would be a grey-blue, not the brilliant color of the summer sky when the air is a balmy caress.

This code now works again at @funranium.bsky.social’s funraniumlabs.com until Halloween. The coffee is great. Phil has recently had to replace a refrigerator and if you want some great coffee and to help him out, this is the best way to do so.

I really and truly need people to understand that a chatbot does not and cannot know anything. Like, I need them to understand that in their bones. It is very good at looking like it knows something, but it does not and cannot know anything.

I remember as a child, encountering the idea of parents closely tracking kids' locations was a specifically formative moment of visceral moral outrage. Kids, especially older kids, have a right to privacy. A child's relationship to their parents should be based on trust, not surveillance.

I think about the state of academia now and the the way I feel about not being a student or a teacher is like seeing a nasty car crash and being glad I'm not in it.
The fact that this many people are cheating like this is horrifying. The system is so broken.

This past semester was the most stressful of my academic career. I had 180 students and about half cheated at some point in the semester
They submit weekly reflections where the questions are opinion-based, graded only on effort, don't care about grammar
