She is looking directly into the car at the young man in the back seat who is reflected in the review mirror. He is wearing a pink hoodie and sees his miserable fate in her. The top half of his face is in shadow, while the bottom half of his face is lit with the warmth of street lights that cast the shadows of rain drops onto his cheek and nose. He is defiant, but he is also scared. On a wet road in a dim foggy forest, a werewolf so dark it could be described as a silhouette with white eyes, looms over a young man laying on the tarmac in a frozen state of fight or flight. The young man is in a dark pink hoodie which contrasts with the otherwise cool, dark pallet of the scene. It’s hard to convince yourself that everything is going to be ok in the face of someone like Sloan. Theo had tried to put up the arrogant front of a deeply unimpressed teenager, however his failure was evident in her shades, where he could see the reflection of his own uncertainty in his eyes that watched the face of the predators before him with a frankly primal calculation gear towards survival. Her smile was the foremost object of disturbance. It was distinctly wrong. A little too wide and crowded with jaggard hyena like teeth. It could, arguably, hold a candle to the definition of a maw. The fact that her skin was scored with a hash of pale scars didn’t help the impression either, it told the story of one not easily dissuaded from any given intention. All this set in the backdrop of a mane of black hair with webs of silver that Theo still had decades to possess. She raised one eyebrow behind her shades. Theo noted it too, and smoked his joint with a sinking feeling. Even in the bright, safe light of the beach they stood on, Theo estimated that he was the nameless victim in the prologue of a horror. If only he was so lucky. This is not in fact the prologue, this is chapter one and he is the P.O.V.

Another little throwback to m'old style challenges and to my childhood playing Fighting Fantasy books. Here we have @justmissart.bsky.social's tiefling twosome Briar & Rose (and Cat, of course) tasting a tipple or two down in some smoky basement. Would you join them?

When people look up the word ‘himbo’ there’ll be a picture of this man, or something like him; whether or not the small antlers protruding from his shaven side and soft deer ears exclude him is your call, but in every other sense he fulfils the definition. Observe the way he sits, legs totally unpoised, one folded before him, the other behind, with his arms propping him up. This man is no threat, his beef cake physique might suggest the potential but with that body language, in nothing but gym shorts and socks, the thought of pouncing upon anyone has not crossed his mind, indeed not much has crossed his mind at all. Who knows what he is blushing up at to his right, with doughy eyes, a goofy smile and a vaguely crimped brow (because after all he’s always a little confused); some lovely being or perhaps a lot of good food? Whatever it is, he's interpreting it in soft feelings and warm colours since syllables are a little out of range. Indeed somewhere behind his giant tits there beats a heart of gold, Behind that stray hair falling over his forehead sits a nice spaciousness cranium, And the packaging speaks for itself. Very much the epitome of the deerbros I draw.

My quaint fantasy world of Avonvale has just been quietly simmering in the back of my mind for a while. So when I started making newsletter comics it seemed right to give it a whimsical little outlet. Anywho, here's Mira having a perfectly sensible time.
A four-panel comic strip. In the first panel we see Mira, a small bandana-clad girl, standing proud at the bow of a small row-boat splashing through the calm waters of the ocean. Behind her Zig, a rope-golem, dutifully rows. SPLOOSH! All of a sudden a giant purple, tentacled beast erupts from the water! Mira and Zig leap in shock! But Mira has a plan! Abandon ship! She leaps over the opposite edge of the boat, pointing authoritatively as Zig leans forward to stop her. We then cut to reality where a very muddy Mira leaps from a high-hanging flower pot down into the arms of her surprised dad Pero. Zig, still in the flower pot, reaches down in an attempt to grab her, their other hand holding onto a wooden spoon.

Tis the season to be spooky and such. So here's Jay getting a little decadent with it.
In a dark, red-tinted room, Jay in antiquated garb leans back in a wing-back chair silhouetted against a roaring fire. Decanting a glass of wine he looks up at the viewer, smiling laconically. Jay: Oh, hello. Care to partake in some wine? It is rather a... full-bodied vintage. In the following panel Jay rears up to us, wine glass in hand, mouth agape to show vampiric incisors. They stare down at us, cackling menacingly. Jay: Which is more than can be said about where it came from! Muhahahaha! Snap back to reality, Jay's boyfriend Kay walks in and picks up the decanter, looking at it incredulously, somewhat undercutting Jay's intended spooky tone. Kay: You don't like wine. This man is disgustingly pretty. Alarmingly even. What with the sharp jaw line and shoulders length the hair falling about the lines of his neck before his muscular shoulders. No one would blame you for being so startled by his very fey countenance that you resolved to hit him with your car; in fact you wouldn't be the first. It's not that he’s a bad man, he’s just not a very clever one, and hasn’t ever clocked that it's not that his antlers are making people assume he’s some roe buck, and thus startling them into a defensive reaction, but more the fact that he is neighked (forgive the spelling) and only confusing matters with his statuesque physique. When people give a police report on the adonis wondering through the woods, they won't even think to mention the doe ears, they never noticed them. Along side finding some clothes that do more for modesty that whatever that sarong is that he is currently tying around his waist, he might consider that when he looks through his brow at people with those come hither eyes, over that slightly rugged crook in his nose, he’s prompting a certain fight or flight response, and asking to eat a windscreen. Again.

Catching up posting old newsletter comics, here's Mal being characteristically compliant with external instruction.
The sun peeks through the curtain of a blue-purple bedroom, it's blue-haired, pink-pajama'd occupant Malakhi gurgling in bed as it shines directly onto his face. CRASH! BANG! SMASH! Other such onomatopoeia are heard outside the room as Malakhi reluctantly begins to struggle upright. "Well, Emm's awake. Guess I'd better get up..." he relents. On his bedside table his phone begins to shine and vibrate. Beep. Beep. Beep. A now very animate and angry Malakhi leans over the phone, eyes-wide with rage, and shouts at it 'SHUT UP!'. As Mal turns back to being wrapped deeper in his quilt, we hear the burbling 'BLLP BLLP' of his phone half-submerged in a glass of water.

Cover of bright spring featuring main characters Auro and Alexios Ultimately, the head was to blame. Alexios had received it three mornings before, delivered with its own honor escort, in a chest of fine, dark oak, chased with finishings of gold. It had been a lovely chest, and the head inside, nestled in folds of velvet, was lovely too. It was the bust of a young woman, carved out of white marble to capture her refined, delicate features. Alexios had set the bust on a table in his private apartments, hoping that it was a symptom of the medium that made her face so cold. Alexios had posed for a sculptor, too. The woman had sketched his face, first, in charcoal. Then she had made the bust of simple clay, forming the raw, wet earth into Alexios’s cheeks, nose, and lips. She used the clay bust as a model for the marble one, and after a month it was delivered to the royal villa. Alexios’s parents, the king and queen, had praised the artist’s skill in capturing their son’s look so handsomely. Alexios had forced a smile, nodding and agreeing, all the while thinking that his own blank, sightless white eyes were unsettling, bordering on creepy.

Today's miscellany is a variety of doodles of m'little satyr healer and chef-to-be Aktenistos, prised from my first not-a-newsletter newsletter. I'll come up with a better shorthand, I promise. Anywho, here there be Akten causing havoc with friends, foes, eggs and a buff sister. His, specifically.
In a loosely-coloured digital ink-and-watercolour doodle, Akten slides from right to left across the ground, chin carving into the ground beneath his surprised face. A small plum of dust sprays up in his wake. Behind him, scribbled in Ancient Greek lettering is his full name Aktenistos. A collection of brown-tinted doodles of Akten. In the top left Akten looks up curiously from a clipboard, wearing an early 20th century curse outfit. Above his tail we see a small chibi-styled Akten wearing a goat onesie, holding his cloth-hoofed hands together, bearing a blank expression. To his right is a panicking Akten trotting forward, precariously carrying several hundred varying-sized eggs in the raised skirt of his outer robe. In the centre a small cartoony Akten stands facing away, turning back to look at the viewer as we see his tail waggle out from under his robes. In the bottom left Akten has pulled up the hood on his robe, stretching over his horns and pushing his unkempt barnet to almost completely cover his face. The text [Engage Incognito Mode] accompanies this flawless disguise. The game is The Monty Hall problem and Akten's the goat. A brown-tinted digital doodle of Akten being carried by his sister Authades, another Satyr of a more considerable stature. Without breaking a sweat she carries him with one arm holding him over her right shoulder as she stoically walks forwards, left hand bandaged but free. Akten, facing backwards, turns to look at his captor with wide-eyed concern as he wiggles his hooves ineffectually. A brown-tinted digital doodle of a group of adventurers posing in a dark void. At the top left we see the smiling head and bright eyes of the dragon Aria, whose wings and tail envelop the group. Her siren handler Palaemon (both belonging to ChibiNetherlands) stoically stroked her raised neck whilst grasping a spear in his left hand. To their right the smiling minotaur visage of Azrael (belonging to ADeliciousStrawberryMan) lurches over the group, unfittingly aggressive in his positivity. To his right a small black snake hisses, protruding from the head of the medusa Sirius (belonging to Jigsaw-yer), as she looks up uncertainly at the looming minotaur. Between Palaemon's loose-fitting toga and Sirius' patterned tunic stands the short-statured Akten, looking up in concern.

Was commissioned to draw @darksunrebel.bsky.social's happy dwarf-dad Badruk for an Odyssey campaign. Things, it seems, took a turn.
On a warm, sunlit afternoon in an ancient Greek-styled city, a stout dwarven craftsman Badruk leans upon an anvil with a hammer. His braided beard winds between golden rings and cascades over a rune-embossed leather apron, holding a variety of tools and bags. A collapsible, bronze shield leans against the anvil reflecting the roaring fire from the furnace behind. Behind that a market place bustles with activity, covering the steps leading into a grand column-adorned stone temple. Amidst the smoke-filled ruins of an ancient Greek-styled city, a stout dwarven Barbarian rages wildly toward the viewer. Bare-chested with tattered leather skirt and cuffs, he steps forward, arms pinned back as if ready to lunge. Around him lie the crumbling rock and splintered wood of a broken blacksmith's forge and market square. Behind all this crumbles the roof and columns of a great stone temple, enshrouded in plumes of smoke matching the tumultuously orange sky.
