Boykin: Vance didn’t even know enough about the topic to be having the discussion. When Zelenskyy asked him if he’s ever been to Ukraine, he said no, he’s seen it on TV. Are you kidding me? Seeing it on TV is your excuse for being able to lecture him while he’s in the middle of a war.

Coming out of a bit of a news break whilst in L.A. and this is quite the hard re-entry: the president of Ukraine being lectured like a child by the U.S. president and vice president who want to steal his natural resources and hand chunks of his country to Putin. I have never been so embarrassed.

All the "Don't show up" folks need to think harder about what that will look like on TV: Trump. Beaming behind him, Vance and Johnson. In the room, wall-to-wall GOP toadies. That is not a win for Dems, nor is some "alternative SOTU" gimmick that won't be on TV. The answer isn't always "Unsubscribe."
A lot of people seem to think that a half-empty room would be incredibly dramatic. It would not be. Trump would give his speech to endless applause while Democrats sit at home hoping that cameras occasionally cut to empty chairs, which are not of dramatic interest. To fight, you have to show up.

Trump bullied Romanian officials into releasing the Tate brothers (indicted there for sex trafficking) and promptly flew them to a Florida courthouse. Not to be charged, of course, but so they could file a defamation suit against one of the women who reported them for assaulting and imprisoning her.
