All the "Don't show up" folks need to think harder about what that will look like on TV: Trump. Beaming behind him, Vance and Johnson. In the room, wall-to-wall GOP toadies. That is not a win for Dems, nor is some "alternative SOTU" gimmick that won't be on TV. The answer isn't always "Unsubscribe."
A lot of people seem to think that a half-empty room would be incredibly dramatic. It would not be. Trump would give his speech to endless applause while Democrats sit at home hoping that cameras occasionally cut to empty chairs, which are not of dramatic interest. To fight, you have to show up.
