I do like to hear @eby-david.bsky.social talking about refineries. @mark-carney.bsky.social @liberalca.bsky.social a refinery should be on the table. It would help especially here on Pacific Coast where gas prices are held ransom by US refineries supplying gas to BC. #cdnpoli #bcpoli

I don’t understand why some people think transitioning away from fossil fuels can happen overnight; it’s not pragmatic or grounded in reality. And I’m a proponent of renewables.

At least now Smith and Poilievre can shut the f up about "obstructionism". There is no private money going into any new pipeline on the planet besides Africa.

It's almost like Carney knows something about private investments and the market.

1. It will finance our transition to green energy on a scale we need.
2. it will reduce other, dirtier suppliers' output if our oil is produced with fewer emissions.

I hope it never comes to pass though.

As Max Fawcett has pointed out, Carney knows that an expanded intertie of the electric grid between British Columbia and Alberta, which is part of the MOU, will also significantly improve the economics of wind and solar projects in Alberta.

His dad, Walter, never sold out. He would be ashamed of the person Wayne has become.
Gretzky and his whole family sold out a long time ago.

Awesome hockey player. Shitty human.

As we wait for the Ottawa/AB MOU to drop -- there's a related, hopeful story unfolding just north of that pipeline everyone's talking about.
Over 7 million hectares of primo BC wilderness are on the brink of permanent protection. That's a Major Project, too.

Carney's 'Critical Conservation Corridor' came out of nowhere. What is it?
The announcement of a protected area in northwest BC that would be tied to huge new mining and infrastructure project caught many by surprise — including the project’s own proponents.

THIS
A important point everyone, even Premier Eby is hiding in his media announcements, is that a key part of the agreement is that Alberta builds a grid connection to BC and SK so that they will both be buying clean hydro electricity from BC.
The agreement literally expands clean energy use.
To build a stronger, more sustainable, and more competitive economy, our Liberal government is strengthening federal-provincial collaboration in the energy sector — diversifying our export markets, driving down emissions, and creating high-paying careers for Canadians.

Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Ontario feels seen.
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.
