In the US, people insist on transferring all responsibility for systemic problems onto the individual in order to neutralize the anger that should be targeted at the rich and powerful. It's the natural evolution of "You could afford a house if you stopped eating avocado toast."
“Work harder” stops functioning as advice when the price of housing and insurance rises faster than wages. At that point, economic precarity is a structural issue and not behavioral.

I still remain completely enraged that Merrick Garland allowed literally all of this shit to happen.
We BEGGED him to move as if democracy was at stake, and he moved so slowly and so pitifully, it was as if he was hired to help that asshole get reelected.

Every elected Republican was a united front opposing and criticizing everything Obama did for 8 straight years, even if it was a policy they fundamentally agreed with. Why. In the fuck. Is it asking too much for Democrats to do the same with a legitimate fascist?
