I do like how the catholic church's insurance that explicitly does not cover stuff which the church disagrees with still coveres quackery based on a different religion that I'm pretty sure the church disagrees with too.

The reason that the prequel trilogy remains absolute rage bait is that they are good movies executed poorly

There is a version in the like platonic idea space but then you have to sit thru the minute by minute of like
Hayden Christensen's accent (which he his not to blame for) &it just falls apart
Do you think Jar Jar Binks was made for children to sympathize with indigenous populations? If so, which ones?
"I have no idea what being a contributing writer for a fascist rag has to do with despising a character that was created for children to sympathize with indigenous populations"

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

The prequels are some of the best and worst movies, often in the same movies. The Phantom Menace and Tenet are basically the only two movies where the best part about then is thinking about them afterwards, but that's only a complimentary about tenet.
One of the funniest things about getting older is watching people my age succumb to nostalgia about these terrible films.
God its so insane anakin admits to slaughtering a bunch of kids and it’s just a non factor for padme

Defense is now questioning Lairmore on cross-examination. They show a video still of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground, post-throw.

"Do you recognize that sandwich?" the attorney asks.

Lairmore won't confirm.

"I did not go back to collect it," he says.

You Should Attend FOSS4G North America
Once again, FOSS4G North America is bringing together the people shaping the future of open-source geospatial technology. This year, it takes place November 3–5 at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Virginia, just a few miles from the centers of federal decision-making where open data, open tools, and open collaboration appear to be increasingly at risk. I’ve attended and helped organize FOSS4G NA for a few years now, and the 2025 program stands out for how clearly it reflects the direction our field is heading. The sessions, workshops, and conversations all point to a few unmistakable trends: the convergence of open-source geospatial with artificial intelligence, cloud-native data, and enterprise-grade interoperability.

I assumed this was a joke making fun of British people but apparently it's real
I like to think that this map of all the regional names for woodlice in the UK could also be a map illustrating the new tribes of humans to be found on the same landmass after The Great Digital Crash and ensuing breakdown of society.

Range requests seem broken in @firefox.com, it sends a
"Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br, zstd, identity" header, the server (for instance githup pages) dutifully sends back a chunk of a gzipped file and firefox proceeds to be unable to open it because gzip doesn't work that way

It's really cooking my 4 year old's brain that his older brother is his big brother but also littler than him. He really wants words to just have just one meaning.
