Yep. A lot of weapons and styles of armor beloved in D&D are in fact early modern and would be contemporaneous with firearms.
it is so funny to me that rapiers and flintlock pistols were introduced at about the same time to europe and one is incontrivertibly in the Fantasy Tapestry and the other is one that many major settings is terrified to include
