There's this weird thing people do where they're like "housing prices haven't gone up that much in Asbestos County Ohio, so there's no housing crisis" and like I cannot explain to you enough how much I do not care about housing prices in Asbestos County Ohio
What the “objective evidence” shows is that the share of income dedicated to housing is higher than before, but not by nearly as much as popular narratives make it seem, with increases heavily driven by a subset of renters. A long-term upward trend. Calling me a “glib idiot” doesn’t change the data.
sure you might have objective evidence in the form of rent or mortgage payments suggesting that housing is much more expensive now than it used to be but consider the following: what if a glib idiot told you it wasn't

One thing about being a law professor who researches sexual abuse is that a lot of victims of it want to tell you there stories so that you can help make sense of them. When institutions treat them as problems, it leaves them baffled. Harvard has a cultural problem and Summers is part of it.
