You never really hear about people who don't trust microwaves anymore. Weird that with all the health conspiracies going around that hasn't come back.

Scorsese set unreasonably high expectations for directors taking bit parts in their own movies and we have suffered from it ever since. It’s almost always going to suck but they still want to try it because he did it.
The funny thing is, Tarantino is always the worst actor in every one of Tarantino’s movies

Today (Dec. 3, 2025), the NES launch was as long ago as World War II was to the NES launch!

In other words, the NES launch is halfway to World War II when going back in time from today.

You can only repost this today!

Probably the weirdest piece of lost media I know about. There exists a guide to using word processors by the creator of lupin the third that I have never seen mentioned anywhere. I bet it uses green screen & has super low budget animation on top of how to videos or something. Shame we can't see it.

This is a subtweet. Many progressives desperately want people to be miserable about the economy for [longstanding progressive critiques], so they're equally desperate to find ways to argue that the public's sudden, inexplicable economic negativity represents the public somehow waking up to reality.

There seems to be this widespread belief among CEOs that making a computer go faster will increase productivity and it just simply isn’t true (anymore)

The Annie Hall that exists on film and the Annie Hall that people online seem to have made up in their head are radically different films.

A little Xbox 360 nostalgia for you:
Back in 2005, we had business cards, and these were mine. A few fun details:

My direct phone extension actually spelled Xbox (9269),

When traveling to Japan, I carried special localized cards to present to partners.

Suggestion: Pico 8 style virtual computer standard that has like, 48MB of Ram and dial up speed connectivity and then we just restart the Internet from first principals based on that.

This tv / Betamax combo was only affordable by drug dealers and disco executives when it came out. So when you look at expensive items from the past, just think about dudes with medallions and chest hair and nose bleeds watching Card Sharks on it or some shit

This current Will Stancil drama is so funny because it’s people going “people are struggling now, which obviously wasn’t happening 40 years ago” and considering themselves to be serious people.

This isn't an official hashtag random game Saturday post since, like, that's all of my posts, but sometimes it's good to remind yourself the Japanese PS2 library is so beautifully diverse that it has multiple licensed fast food games that not only have good covers, they're just Good Games, period. 😌

On Saints Row we had a debug npc named Skinballs (lol) that was literally just four spheres wrapped in different shades of skin texture so we could test lighting for different skin tones during development. But teams need to plan for that kind of testing with intentionality, and not enough do.
