I was 10 or 11yo when the IRA hunger strikes happened, too young to properly follow events.
Reading about it now for insight on Palestine Action hunger strikes it strikes me the news blackout is not because Palestine Action is proscribed, but because they know it will have public sympathy.

Alongside fellow Green MPs and Peers, I have written to the Justice Secretary to express my serious concern about the wellbeing and conditions of the hunger strikers.

Five of the strikers have now been hospitalised - it is clear Lammy must take urgent action to prevent tragedy.

You'll be hearing plenty of lies and propaganda about Venezuela shipping a bazillion tons of drugs via tiny fishing boats (which, incidentally, would have to refuel at least six times to reach U.S. waters) and submersibles (!).

Just keep in mind: IT'S THE OIL.

Venezuela's oil exports surpass 1 million bpd for first time since 2020, data shows
Venezuela's oil exports averaged 1.09 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, the highest monthly level since February 2020, according to shipping data and documents from state-run energy company PDVSA.

For the first time ever, London has met legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

When I became Mayor, we were told it would take 193 years. We did it 184 years earlier than expected.

Cleaner air means a healthier city and big savings for the NHS.

Hopefully the next president....
A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!

Israeli forces are minutes away from illegally intercepting the Global Sumud Flotilla.

One of the ships - the Ohwayla - sails under a UK flag. Onboard are humanitarians with vital aid, demanding a humanitarian corridor.

The Labour government must act NOW to protect UK citizens.

Yes, important to congratulate our government for this step. Now need full arms embargo, clearer condemnations and targeted sanctions against the genocidal regime, especially to prevent more land theft in the West Bank.

Wouldn't it be nice if the citizens and governments of the US and other Western nations for once looked to their own role in providing the demand for cocaine.

I repeat my call here: I know you did not stand for election to preside over inaction in the face of such crimes. Call on the govt to act, today.

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

Trump’s attacks on Iran are another hugely dangerous escalation.

Unjustified, illegal, provocative; they make the world less safe, not more.

The UK must condemn these attacks and make clear it will provide no support.

It’s beyond outrageous that UK is continuing to supply arms to Israel, when there is - beyond all doubt - a “clear risk” they could be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law. What else are ministers waiting for? Unforgivable complicity
Overnight, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator warned that genocide is possible in Gaza. I asked an urgent question Does this Govt stand by its duty to prevent under the Genocide Convention, and will it act to uphold humanitarian law?

Or just say “we did all we could.”
