Waveney Foodbank is one of our quiet heroes, stepping in when people need support most. They provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food to people across our community, and sadly demand has only increased in recent years.

We are a nation of animal lovers. That is why it is long past time for the Govt to take action to help end the cruel dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands.
UK MPs call for action to end dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands - Oceanographic
A cross-party coalition of UK MPs have called for an end to the annual dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands, a move celebrated by campaigners.

Really glad to meet RABI & talk about their new FarmersAid app to support farmers with serious on-farm accidents.

Launching in June 2026, the app will provide step-by-step guidance for life-threatening injuries, helping farmers act fast in those critical first mins before emergency services arrive

The Campaign to Protect Rural England has been passionate about our countryside for a century.

I was really glad to celebrate CPRE's 100th anniversary in Parliament.

Access to radiotherapy is currently a postcode lottery.

Every patient should have timely access to world-class radiotherapy, wherever they live. Supporting patients, the workforce, and modern equipment is key to saving lives.

Time and time again, I hear how hard it is to find a dentist. Across the country, including in Waveney Valley, dental deserts leave far too many people without care.

This week I questioned the Minister on what’s being done to fix it.

The Govt’s own assessment warns that climate change & biodiversity loss threaten long-term food security & worsen natural disasters.

I’m pressing for a debate on the Joint Intelligence Assessment so Parliament can scrutinise this important report.

I'm delighted that, following a lot of behind the scenes work from Green Councillor Lucy Elkin, Eye will soon have a permanent post office, located in a new convenience store. For far too long, residents have been left without this vital service since the previous post office closed over 2 years ago

Nearly 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Early diagnosis rates have barely changed nationwide. Survival is improving but progress is slowing. That is why we must make this Parliament a turning point. #WorldCancerDay

It is some relief that Peter Mandelson has resigned as a Lord & that the Met has begun a criminal investigation.

It is utterly unacceptable that sensitive information may have been shared with Epstein during Mandelson's time as Business Secretary.

Files released by US apparently show Mandelson sending Epstein market-sensitive information while serving as business secretary

Today I have written to the Secretary of State at DEFRA asking for an update on when the Govt will hold a debate on the national security assessment, particularly its stark warning that global biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse pose a serious threat to the UK's security and prosperity.

Fossil fuel companies have got away with ruining our planet & making taxpayers pick up the cost.

The Global Tax Treaty must put the burden on fossil fuel companies that have caused the damage.

On World Cancer Day, I’m proud to support the APPG on Cancer. We must remember that while more people are living with cancer, access to timely diagnosis and high quality care remains unequal.

Everyone deserves the right care, treatment and support for their needs, no matter who they are.

After a fantastic assembly at Burston Primary School, where I answered lots of questions about what it is like being an MP and representing our area, it was great to spend time with the boys and girls as they showed me their new bug hotel in the community orchard.

Young people deserve affordable ways to get to college, work and training, in both rural & urban areas.

Free bus travel for under-22s removes cost as a barrier and helps tackle isolation.

Floods are becoming more frequent.

Clydach Terrace was flooded during Storms Dennis & Bert.

Now 16 homes will be demolished because defences were not built in time.

Successive Govts have not invested in preparing for climate change.

Climate inaction has real consequences.
Flood-prone Ynysybwl homes may be bought and bulldozed by council
People on a street at risk of flooding will discover whether their homes are to be demolished.

When people are dying and freezing in Ukraine, allies cannot stand by while companies fund war.

TotalEnergies continues to import Russian gas and holds stakes in Russia’s strategic energy projects, supporting aggression against Ukraine.

Great to be in Stowupland recently for my surgery, followed by a meeting with Green Councillors Keith Welham and Janet Pearson and then knocking on doors to discuss the issues that matter to you in Stowupland.

This week Roydon Primary School warmly welcomed me into their assembly. I am always impressed by the thoughtful questions from pupils, from what it is like being an MP to the challenges around flooding.

WASPI campaigners let down once again.

This Government has admitted wrongdoing but offered a bitter dose of nothing to a entire generation of women who faced so many hurdles and prejudices in respect of their careers and earnings.

Waspi women compensation bid rejected again after government review
The Women Against State Pensions Inequality will not get the billions of pounds they claimed they were owed. Labour announced they were reviewing a previous rejection at the end of last year.

If a practice is too cruel for food produced in Britain, it should be too cruel for food imported into Britain.

I spoke in Parliament to argue that higher welfare standards on British farms should not be undermined by lower-welfare imports.

A Call for Evidence is open for women and families to share their experiences of maternity and neonatal care in England.

It really matters that your voice be heard to give government the best evidence on how to improve care, make services safer,
Call for Evidence - National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation
Baroness Amos is asking women and families across England to share their experiences of maternity and neonatal care through a public Call for Evidence.

Great news!

This needs to happen in England too!
🚨 It's official!

Swift nesting bricks have passed the Scottish Parliament and will now become law.

Swifts are in serious decline across the UK. This will help reverse that trend and make our communities more liveable for birds.
