Always great catching up with Christine, Nic and the team at The Locks Inn. It’s such a brilliant community pub. Thanks to Nic for updating me on the renewable energy plans.

And good to speak with residents about issues affecting Geldeston.

In 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that climate impacts must be considered in planning decisions.

Yet councils are allowing mega farms to conceal their emissions.

Thirty-five developments have routinely ignored or downplayed the industry’s carbon footprint.

Delighted to push for an equal Parliament with 50/50 Parliament.

If we want to ensure our Parliament really serves everyone, we need equal representation.

That is why it is vital that parties #AskHerToStand and support more women into politics.

It’s absurd that private jet fuel is still untaxed when ordinary people are seeing living costs go up and up.

I joined We Are Possible to call on the Chancellor to end this unfairness & make the richest pay their fair share, to support our public services & a healthy environment
November 7, 2025 at 10:49 AM
I said yesterday that the chancellor was laying the ground for her budget as hard choices for everyone but the wealthiest.⁣

And now the chancellor is reportedly going to cut vital funding for desperately needed home insulation to cut bills.
November 5, 2025 at 11:55 AM
This morning the Chancellor spoke of difficult decisions for everyone but the ultra-rich.

It’s time to tackle the cost of living crisis, end child poverty and invest in our vital public services by taxing extreme wealth fairly.
November 4, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Make no mistake, the Chancellor is laying the groundwork for her budget as hard choices for everyone but the wealthiest.⁣

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 on taxing extreme wealth, 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 on shifting the burden onto those with the broadest shoulders.⁣

We must ensure polluters, not the poorest, pay for climate action.

Ahead of COP30, we have written to the Prime Minister, urging him to ensure that those most responsible bear the cost.

This morning, I stood alongside families outside Norfolk County Hall for #EveryPairTellsAStory. Each pair of shoes lying on the ground represents a child who has been failed by the SEND system.

Since 2015, an average of 53 bank branches have closed every month nationwide. Over 85% of banks in Waveney Valley have shut during that time.

This isn’t sustainable.

I’ve written in this week’s EADT on why we need more banking hubs to keep communities connected. www.eadt.co.uk/news/2557825...
Opinion: Why we urgently need more banking hubs
We cannot allow rural East Anglia to become a patchwork of communities without access to cash or local banking.

Nicola is one of 29 families who lost loved ones in the Chinook helicopter crash.

The Govt still refuses to release key documents, denying truth and justice.

Today I urged ministers to meet the families and the cross-party group of MPs supporting them

For the vast majority of people (except Ukrainians and Hongkongers) there is NO WAY to claim asylum in the UK without coming by small boat

The only way to stop people making dangerous boat crossings to the UK is by creating safe and managed routes

Govt's plan is delusional

Thank you to @AFR_UK for a great session on #HerbiesLaw.

The Government still hasn’t set a timeframe to phase out animal experiments. With proven modern non-animal research methods worldwide, it’s cruel and needless to continue. As a nation of animal lovers, we must act.

Farage's motion on leaving the European Convention on Human Rights failed: 154 votes to 96

All 4 @greenparty.org.uk MPs voted against it, because we believe international agreements on human rights are a good thing.

But only 63 out of 401 Labour MPs did:

It is horrifying that Netanyahu has bombed Gaza, a clear violation of the ceasefire.

The unimaginable suffering in Gaza must end.

We must demand justice and reparations for all victims of atrocities.

I was proud to join the #TaxTheBanks action yesterday, and I’m calling on other MPs to do the same.

We are at a vital moment. Now is the time to invest in our future: in our schools & public services, in the move to a green economy.

I can’t thank Yellow Wellies enough for their valuable insights in Parliament today.

The Mind Your Head campaign does incredible work supporting farmers through difficult times.

Great to join business and political leaders from across Suffolk at #SuffolkConvention2 to discuss how we promote all that’s great about our county. I stressed that protecting our natural environment and backing local small businesses are key to Suffolk’s future.

I was pleased to attend the Macmillan Cancer coffee morning in Parliament last week.

Every cancer patient deserves support through one of the most difficult times in their life. The work that Macmillan does is truly invaluable,

I found it incredibly moving to visit the art exhibition Gaza: Remains the Story yesterday in Diss.

In the middle of such heartbreak in Palestine, it’s so crucial to remember the depth and beauty of Palestinian history and culture.

We can’t survive without nature.

Proud to stand with @chrisgpackham.bsky.social kham and @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social to launch our Bill giving nature the legal protections it deserves.

The Greens will keep fighting for nature, because when we protect nature, we protect everything we depend on.

I spoke in Parliament this morning about the huge impact of the post office closure & loss of essential banking services in Halesworth. I am calling for the govt to accelerate the roll out of banking hubs, prioritising rural communities at greatest risk of financial isolation.
