Maus author Art Spiegelman’s next comic will be about Gaza, in collaboration with Joe Sacco. He thinks he will struggle to find a publisher in the United States.

“I’ll finish this thing or die trying.”
Art Spiegelman Won’t Shrink Back From Controversy
The artist has illustrated more than one contentious New Yorker cover in his career, chronicled in a new film, and his next project will be no less gutsy.

R.I.P., Thom Christopher, best known to many for his work on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, but absolutely best known to me for playing Hawk on BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY.

I was very sorry to read yesterday of Thom Christopher’s passing. He was most famous and beloved, and hated as villain Carlo Hesser in “One Life To Live” but he is also remembered for his role as Hawk on NBC’s “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century”. May he rest in peace. I met him once, was a lovely man.

Saddened to hear the news that actor Thom Christopher (1940-2024) has passed away. I remember him as Hawk in the TV series "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century". 😔 📺

old star wars used to reference kurosawa but new star wars references star wars, and you can pretty much apply that to most things now
Not to be a bitch but the thing that people are missing in discussions in how children’s media doesn’t have help kids have curiosity abt art anymore is that like at least 80% of the young animators I have met don’t read and only watch entertainment for children

It's the difference between a pastiche and a ripoff.

Lucas liked Buck Rogers serials, but he didn't make BR, he made his own thing with swashbuckling BR tropes in it.

JJ Abrams likes Star Wars, so he makes... Star Wars. Literally the same movie, beat for beat.

You can make your own Buck Rogers comic as the name is not trademarked and the first year of comics enters the public domain in January.
Just avoid Buck Rogers ideas and images that appear after 1929.
