The Charge of the US Dragoons at the Battle of Crysler's Farm. Nov 11th, 1813.
The Dragoons dramatically charged the advancing British line. Though unsuccessful, they saved the artillery from being overrun. One officer believed it was their "highest honor" in the War of 1812.

Once again, I messaged both my senators and my Congressional representative to get the federal government open now. I encourage my American friends to do the same.

I just took some cash out of the ATM and the heads on the bills aren't even pointing the same direction... What kind of bullshit is that?!?

But it's okay to vote for a president who actually has a felony record for sexual assault?...
Maybe we should just stop voting for any sexual predators. 🤷♂️

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I wouldn't vote for Andrew Cuomo...All these women came out with these accusations against him which I found pretty disgusting. And then the Covid lockdowns and all the people's parents and grandparents who died in nursing homes."

Pizza Hut would see a lot more of me if there's a new owner that ditched Pepsi in favor of Coke.
Yum! Brands, home to popular fast-food restaurant chains like Taco Bell and KFC, said on Tuesday that it was exploring “strategic options” for its struggling Pizza Hut division.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions
"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

It would really bother me personally to appear this stupid. I guess it doesn't bother the speaker. 🤷♂️
Does the Speaker of the House know what's going on in the country?
It's not clear that he does, as Mike Johnson's communication strategy seems to rely heavily on being unaware.
When faced with questions he should be able to answer, he has a reliable response: "I don't know."

I'll remind Republicans again: you control both houses of Congress. If you can pass a budget with just Republican votes, do it. If you need Democratic votes, time to get busy negotiating.
Unless, of course, they don't want to fund the government. . . .

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I think U2's sophomore effort October is quite good. Obviously 3/4 of the band was in the midst of Christian soul searching and self doubt but the *music* is super creative, especially for a young band. Adam Clayton (bass) doesn't get enough credit for his energy.

The Republican controlled Senate can change the rules, blow up the filibuster and pass a Republican budget anytime they want to.
Apparently, the speaker doesn't seem to know much about how our government works. 🤷♂️

According to readily available data, cattle ranchers loaded overwhelmingly for Trump. I wonder after seeing this post from Trump if a lot of them are beginning to think, "huh... This is how Wormtongue must have felt after serving and groveling for Saruman."
Maybe not and the irony is lost on them.

Just remember: Republicans can pass a budget any time they want to. They just vote to change Senate rules and do away with the filibuster.
Short of that, Republicans need Democratic votes but won't negotiate with them... 🤷♂️

I-70 between Indianapolis and the Ohio border is a national embarrassment.
They've broken ground on expanding it to three lanes but I think they've just given up trying to maintain all the other lanes... I'm just glad I don't have a bad back. 😕

It’s weird how the “young” Republicans are actually full-grown men and JD Vance treats them as children who shouldn’t face consequences for their racism, misogyny, or xenophobia.
But pregnant 12-year-old little girls are treated as adults and must literally bear the consequences of rape and incest.

This could not be more detached from reality. The No Kings rally I attended earlier this year had families, young people, old hippies, people of every color and size and me.
I feel sorry for Republicans who feel like they have to demonize fellow Americans who peacefully disagree with them.
