Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I think U2's sophomore effort October is quite good. Obviously 3/4 of the band was in the midst of Christian soul searching and self doubt but the *music* is super creative, especially for a young band. Adam Clayton (bass) doesn't get enough credit for his energy.

It's just East of Mt. Rainier on WA 410 pretty close to Naches Peak. It was 4:38 AM when I took that photo... No filters or alterations; that was the natural light.
I got these as well.

According to readily available data, cattle ranchers loaded overwhelmingly for Trump. I wonder after seeing this post from Trump if a lot of them are beginning to think, "huh... This is how Wormtongue must have felt after serving and groveling for Saruman."
Maybe not and the irony is lost on them.

Every now and then the music gods remind me of a *perfect* album... Strong from start to finish with no fillers. The 1988 release of Sunshine on Leith by the Proclaimers is one of these albums.

NB: If I have any Band of Brothers followers, we stayed in Carentan. If you see the people hanging out of the window at the upper left, I stayed in the room directly right of that. Under the arches to the right I had dinner one night. My brother served in the 502nd PIR so we followed his unit.

NB: Napoleon was also fond of Parmesan Reggiano and Rocquefort.
Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin called Épousses the "King of Cheeses" and coincidentally, Chambertin has been called the "King of Wines."

If that's something you celebrate in your world, raise a glass ti Napoleon's favorite wine, Chambertin, and his favorite cheese was Époisses, both from Burgundy and, not surprisingly, an excellent pairing. 🍷🧀

Today is the 233rd anniversary of the fall of the Bourbon monarchy in France during the French Revolution.
Since 1789, French society remade itself during an increasingly convulsive social revolution. A written constitution had been enacted that transformed France into a constitutional monarchy.
