Mayor Brandon Johnson’s advice to Zohran Mamdani is fascinating: “When we win, sometimes the movement doesn’t always show up after the win.” Is there soul searching about the ways he has or hasn’t shown up for “movement”? Story by @aliceyin.bsky.social

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

All I keep thinking about is how Pete Hegseth raised questions of the competency of a Black four-star general and Air Force fighter pilot who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hegseth asked did he get the job “because of his skin color? Or his skill? We’ll never know, but always doubt.”

so to be absolutely clear: the black man hired for the job did it competently for four years, only to be replaced by the unqualified white guy who has careened from fuck up to fuck up

ICYMI, @propublica.org uncovered Project 2025 training videos last summer.

And here’s where they discuss how to evade FOIA & hide their agenda from the public.

The “Houthi PC small group” didn’t arise from ignorance of the law or incompetence.

They just got caught.

literally every day is going to provide more evidence that the "let's provide some votes for the least bad trump nominees out of respect for the presidency" was a boneheaded strategy. any idiot could have told senate democrats that any vote for any of these people was going to make them look bad.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.
