I legit think the biggest disconnect in our society is defining respect as “recognizing human dignity” vs “deference to authority”
When picking my kid up from work they informed me their manager told all of them that due to her position they had to treat her with respect.
I informed my child they have to follow the manager’s directions but they absolutely don’t have to respect her just because she’s a manager.
