This is actually the right move. Like similar algorithm pricing recommendations in real estate, this consultant-higher ed relationship is likely distorting tuition pricing. Ivy league was guily of it, wouldn’t be surprised if these other colleges are as well. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/01/b...

Holy hell. DHS just openly stated that its agents use “reasonable suspicion” to make ARRESTS. This is blatantly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is clear that you need probable cause to arrest someone, as opposed to stop them to ask them a question or two. This is huge b/c…

Democrats should become the anti-corruption party. 72% of voters think a member of Congress would likely accept a bribe if offered one. 80% say donors run DC. The solution isn’t left vs right, it’s clean vs corrupt. But first, Democrats must reform themselves and reject big money.
The Democrats' Path Forward: Become the Anti-Corruption Party
But to reform the system they first need to reform the Democratic Party.

one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

We’re peacefully protesting for our neighbors. What does ICE do?

Pick us up and throw us on the ground. No arrest, no identification, no process.

This is why I don't understand the hagiography of him as a bastion of free speech. I agree that his murder was an assault on free speech as a principle of liberal democracy, but so was his politics. Condemning both is the only consistent position.
Hi @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social, we're friendly, we've been on each other's shows. We both agree Kirk's murder is horrific. Q: was Kirk "practicing politics in exactly the right way" when he called for me to be deported because he didn't like my Covid views on MSNBC?

The guy who nearly got people killed spreading Pizzagate. Who called for an end to American democracy *last year*. Who told his followers to “take the path of the hunter … we are going to make them the prey."

We’re watching this country collectively descend into madness.
I'd list all the things Jack Posobiec is known for, but I think it would get me banned on Bluesky in the current environment of automated moderation.

Let's just say he has an extensive page at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Anyway, CBS News is talking with Posobiec about his friend Charlie Kirk.

condemnations of political violence are well taken but it does feel as if some
prominent political commentators are of the view that violence isn’t a part of the history of American politics and that is very much not true.

A real leader would remind us that the vast majority Americans do not hate each other. That what unites us is greater than what divides us. That violence is not a solution.

But Trump is going to use this as an opportunity to suppress critics who had nothing to do with this crime and condemn it.
Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

for the record I don't even understand how this matters to the question of whether it's fake, if someone was faking a letter to Jeffrey Epstein from Donald Trump in 2003, which is obviously absurd, they could have just used the arcane pre-AI technology appliance known as a copy machine
For much of his presidency, President Donald Trump has been focused on the signature of his predecessor and whether an autopen was used to affix it.

But over the course of 36 hours, attention has pivoted to Trump’s signature.
No clear answers on whether Trump signed the Epstein birthday book
Trump denies it is his, and experts say they can’t be sure. The White House welcomed a forensic analysis of the loopy D and long tail.
