I told someone I'm teaching a short, intensive J-Term class on Empathy over the next two weeks and they asked if I'd seen Pluribus. I hadn't. So I watched the first episode tonight and holy shit. I also teach a Contagion class...how has no one forced me to watch this yet?

It’s all just a tv show to him.
But the “violence” is real human lives, not make believe.
The international norms being broken are just as real.
The Republicans who control Congress are the only ones right now who can hold him accountable.
They are letting Trump violate international law and start wars as though he’s directing a TV program.
Trump to Fox & Friends on the raid that captured Maduro: "I mean, I watched it literally l like I was watching a television show. If you would've seen the speed, the violence -- it was an amazing thing."

One cannot help but wonder if the attack on Venezuela is an attempt to distract from this devastating testimony about Trump’s culpability for 1/6 as well as a reminder about his ability to act with apparent impunity.
Jack Smith: The evidence made clear that President Trump was, by a large measure, the most culpable and most responsible person in this conspiracy. These crimes were committed for his benefit. The attack that happened at the Capitol as part of this case does not happen without him.

Mike Lee, who fancies himself an intellectual, advances the premise that US agents can walk into the Venezuelan president’s rooms in Caracas at any time and exercise a plenary police power, and if anyone in that sovereign state might get in their way the military can just start blowing shit up.

Oh wow you were forced to apologize for being white. How did you phrase your apology? Where were you? Who demanded it of you, and what law compelled you? Was it a local ordinance? State level? Was it court-mandated? Tell me more about this apology you made for being white.

Following this logic, any creative artist fleeing Germany in the 1930s was failing in their duty as a public artist to perform for all the people
This is the logical and inevitable conclusion of the last decade of elite media "free speech" discourse.
