Doing a family-friendly event in the Hudson Valley two weeks from today for Bobby. Totally free and in a beautiful space/place. Food, freaks, frolicing, fire pits...come on out!

Even if you haven't seen Jennifer's wonderful work, believe me when I tell you she is one of us—a voracious music listener and lover resisting the enshittification of culture.

Still snowing, still dreaming: The next night is a much stronger night. Bobby is especially on. Check him in Althea & Lazy Lightnin. AUDs are great but Eaton got a SBD out a few years ago that’s glorious. They never missed in Maine. relisten.net/grateful-dea...

JRAD sounding amazing on stream it sucks that they draw the biggest chomps the world has ever seen. Both live experiences I’ve had with them down low and close destroyed by NYC metro area broskis

It’s a damn shame it took the losses of Phil and Bobby to get me listening to Dead jams on the regular after some years gone astray. Anyway, this might be helpful to some. Find Dead bands in your state/town.

Trudy Morse of the Sun Ra Arkestra’s 1993 letter to Phil Lesh seeking an opening slot for the group in 1993. Apparently the Grateful Dead flowed some money to Saturn?! Super cool. Wish they kicked Sting to the curb and had the Arkestra. (via the Sun Ra Appreciation Society)

Check on your closest boomers to make sure they aren’t sharing AI slop eulogies for Weir by Neil Young.

Hard to believe the only venue in NY south of Albany getting something together for Bobby today is Garcia’s in Port Chester. Come on, people!

Trying to listen to the Dead Channel (they’re doing an impromptu Bobby vigil, taking calls) on Sirius but Steve Parish is so fucking annoying.

What piece of music did you reach for first when you heard about Bobby? I went for a nice Black Throated Wind from ‘72. Following it up with Anthem because New Potatoes Caboose is golden.

A/Bing an American first press of ‘Meddle’ (using “Fearless) with a rip of the MFSL CD and nobody in the family is noticing/commenting/caring what is life

I'm gonna grip the official release but, man, this source is FUCKING INSANELY GOOD. Way better than the oft-jammed FM SBD.

Had a similar experience. It’s just not good music.
Okay, after years of intermittently trying to get into Van Dyke Parks, it's finally time to admit defeat.
