Hungary banned anything that “promotes homosexuality,” which means Pride.

However, today over 500,000 people in Budapest told the government to fuck off. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Continuing reports that Dems may force Republicans to read the entire MAGA murder budget out loud. This is a good thing to call your blue senators in support of.

"Everyone underestimated how shitty Republicans would be" is the single most common political error I've witnessed in my adult life. Maybe the underestimaters should take note.
The GOP bill is much worse for wind and solar than clean energy experts expected. Many were scrambling today to understand exactly what the additional tax on wind and solar means -- and how much it will slow investment.

From me and Evan Halper:

GOP is on verge of sweeping victory in bid to gut clean energy economy
The Republican controlled Congress is poised to score a major victory for President Donald Trump by repealing green energy incentives that Democrats passed in the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022.

Five years after COVID-19 was officially declared a pandemic, Donald Trump's botched response remains one of the worst moments our nation experienced during his first term in office.

Here are other moments you've probably forgotten. https://youtu.be/gdstZDCCgAc?si=_RiziFsySPY9mjx7
10 Worst Things About The Trump Presidency | Robert Reich
Donald Trump left office with the lowest approval rating of any president ever. But some people now seem to be suffering from amnesia. Let me jog your memory.

I looked through ALL crew rosters post shuttle program & I can say with about 95% confidence that YES this is the FIRST time two women have been in control of a space vehicle in a crewed environment.

No mention in the #NASA news release.

So let's celebrate Cmdr. Anne McClain & Pilot Nichole Ayers!
Yesterday, Crew-10 launched from KSC with four crewmembers. The commander & pilot are both women.

Is this the first time women have been in full control of a space vehicle? I certainly can't find any other time it's happened (at least from the US) If so... why isn't it being talked about more?

When you feel yourself becoming complacent or surrendering to hopelessness or apathy, remember that everything that exists today exists because someone(s) dreamt it up and decided to put in the work to make it a reality. We can create new ways of doing things, new ways of being, new worlds.

Got an angry message from someone disappointed that my movie podcast is "political" this week because I talked about HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH and what a remarkable movie it is.

(A) Art is political. (B) If HEDWIG is a bridge too far, fuck right off, because I promise we'll talk about wilder things.

With increased scrutiny on regulatory agencies post-Chevron, science groups should advocate for evidence-based, science-driven facts in the regulatory process and increased resources to help agencies meet the growing complexity of biotech regulation.

The thread is worth a read. And this. I turn out basically no matter what. But I know others who do NOT bother when it is clear the candidate has gone so far to the right.
7/ The conventional wisdom that Democrats must "run to the center" to win elections simply doesn't hold up empirically. When Democrats have moderated as a party, they've consistently performed worse electorally. When they have closed the partisan turnout gap, they've consistently performed well.

I mean... it is probably too late. Schumer has caved. And likely did after securing the other Dems who will cave. But this is a good explanation of what the caving looked like.
