The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Is there anywhere that has the vote records of who voted for the current #senatevote ? I can see the current Roll Call and I know we are waiting for one but I'd like to know which Dems sold out. #shutdown #democratscaved

In #showmeyourknits 🧶 the prompt is "Baby" 👶

I haven't knitted much for babies. The only baby knitted gift I have done is a set of 8 Washcloths with Raised Designs. And I took almost no pics. Here are two of them, though it is hard to see in the picture.

A group of men violently assaulted a transgender veteran in Seattle walking home from work. They cited Trump's trans military ban as they beat her.

One of the perpetrators was already wanted for domestic violence and was previously charged with a hate crime.

I started & finished The Martian Contingency by @maryrobinettekowal.com this week.
I will probably re-read the series to have the full cast of characters but one of the subplots was the discussion about the use of the word "Colony" for leaving Earth 🧵

The 🧶yarn community is the best. After panicked msgs on Ravelry last night I was able to contact someone who is sending me another skein.
Thank you to that someone! You know who you are. I adore the fiber arts community for its mutual aid.

🧶Knitting Achievement unlocked - Starting a cardigan assuming the "sweaters worth" of yarn you bought 3 years ago would be enough cuz it is a sweater, right?
Wrong. I realized after completing the back and halfway through one of the fronts that I was lower than I should be. Math says I'm screwed.

For #showmeyourknits this week the prompt is #colorwork
I haven't done a lot of colorwork. It is on my list for this year. But I did explore Double Knitting with this super simple trivet.

Fucking this.
The thread is good, but this is gold. Trump & the GOP & Musk are responsible for bringing the bullshit bill to the Senate.
Schumer and other Dems who voted for Cloture looked at the SINGULAR way to stand up and said 'nah'.
Mark my words - one day and one day soon, Dems will use this same excuse to vote for a budget with anti-trans shit in it.

And the same people defending this will defend that.

For #showmeyourknits 🧶in Green

Current WIP, a cardigan for my lovely wife. This was me measuring the back. It may be more of a Blue Green than Green but so be it.

Also the St. Patty's Day Socks I made for my parents 50th Anniversary on 3/17.

I now have a new thing to do. <3 🧶
Hi 👋! I post the prompts on Saturday mornings (UK time; I know we have knitters from all over based on when the replies and posts come through). You can always find the most recent one as my pinned post. It’s been a joy to create community here and, of course, see all the amazing knits 🤩! Welcome!
Hey knitters, who is determining the #showmeyourknits themes each week? I can't seem to find out where this fun is originating so I can participate! 🧶

I mean... it is probably too late. Schumer has caved. And likely did after securing the other Dems who will cave. But this is a good explanation of what the caving looked like.
“This is bullsh*t. This is not a real strategy. The reason why you do this is because you think your constituents are too dumb to understand how congressional procedure works.” - @ezralevin.bsky.social

The thread is worth a read. And this. I turn out basically no matter what. But I know others who do NOT bother when it is clear the candidate has gone so far to the right.
7/ The conventional wisdom that Democrats must "run to the center" to win elections simply doesn't hold up empirically. When Democrats have moderated as a party, they've consistently performed worse electorally. When they have closed the partisan turnout gap, they've consistently performed well.
