(He/him) Dem politics, sci-fi, law, humor. I repost a lot of stuff.
Don’t forget it will also harm the NYT which will not beat the allegations that it suppressed damaging information re: Trump

There was an article by a woman who went on blind dates with a bunch of MAGA. One of them (unclear if representative) would defend Trump as if the attacks were against himself. Extreme parasocial relationship. Maybe similar to that.

What the Epstein files show is the *solidarity* of many men-across class, race, religion, profession & party affiliation-in the global political project of keeping the boot on women's necks.

People have no problem understanding class solidarity among the rich. Why can't they see gender solidarity?
Like I dunno, maybe the reason it took a lady to break open the story of all the men protecting the dude trafficking underage girls is because the male journos were all emailing him making jokes about it?

People often make that remark, but rarely note that with each of the 3 Presidential elections btw 2016 & 2024, Trump gained *more* votes from Latino & Black voters--mostly men--despite demeaning & threatening them relentlessly.

My read:

* white women Trump voters think the gains they'll get from white supremacy will outweigh their losses from his male supremacist policies

* men of color who vote for Trump think the gains they'll get from male supremacy will outweigh their losses from his racism

Both groups are wrong.

Sweeney’s Hammer (“they are covering election-related stories this way because they want Trump to win the election, credit to @mtsw.bsky.social ) is by far the most powerful explicatory principle, and people who work for outlets like the Times or NBC or CNN should take stock of their role

LTJr’s last byline for the NYT was 2.5 weeks before the Miami Herald Epstein story dropped in November 2018, if we are trying to establish a timeline that might be more accurate than the one the NYT told NPR.

Congress didn't have it, and neither did Biden. The DOJ isn't supposed to name and shame, it's supposed to prosecute crimes. Hence the impropriety of FBI investigating and smearing Clinton in public back in 2016.
