I'm getting ready to try and make a comic called "Slay" through @wearezoop.bsky.social but I need more people to sign up for updates before I launch it next year. It's about a wannabe monster hunter who gets in over her head when she decides to impersonate the real thing

As somebody who went through the Action Lab debacle, I encourage people to do this and also to ask questions about your contract.
Asking for things to be clearly defined is not a problem and if your publisher says it is, that's a red flag. People that mean well often don't do well
if you're an author or illustrator who has been dealing with the fallout of the royalties/contracts snafu with sprocket, i humbly suggest you get everything in writing and lawyer up to protect your rights.

that's it, that's all i have to say

k bye :)

“AI” isn’t a tool or technology or even a cluster of technologies with a misleading name. It’s the infrastructure at the foundation of a form of capitalism dependent on data brokering. We should be teaching our students about this and not teaching them about “responsible” use.

Worth saying: the Atlantic search showed nothing in my name. Searching on libgyn's actual website pulled over 400 listing's for nearly 200 different comics i have written
Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

same for artists. no artist is burnt out because their workload would be less with AI or their project managing software could be assisted by AI.

we’re burnt out because our work is not respected enough. what we do is seen as disposable and replaceable, rather than valuable.
No, authors aren't burnt out because "writing without AI is slow"

We're burnt out because we're paid dirt so we need day jobs to survive
