holy shit is this real?
I'm trying to stay blind as possible for Spielberg's DISCLOSURE (rumored title) but this is much edgier and dark than I expected for his UFO project rumored to feel like his early career:

Also, decreasing ads. When you pay for something, having to sit through ads for Google or GMC or whatever is torture and devalues the experience especially with streaming no longer being ad free. Theaters have a very simple path to making the experience better and they seemingly refuse to do it.
All of this money spent on this study and not a single mention of things that might keep people away: disruptive audience behavior, increasingly poor technical presentation, every shrinking theatrical windows (or day and date indies). I love theaters, and go multiple times a week, but it’s grim.
How Can Movie Theaters Fill More Seats Again? A Bain Report Shares Suggestions
"Audiences haven’t abandoned theaters; they need a more compelling reason to go," the consultancy highlights, sharing suggestions for how to bring fans back to the cinema in the post-COVID era.

people now run a red light at a busy intersection by my house. literally 2-3 seconds after it’s fully red and they go through. it’s insane and never happened pre-Covid
Can't remember if it was this bad before COVID but I'm seeing an alarming spreading of what I'll call Airport Behavior to other public places. Obliviousness to other people's existence, ineptitude at navigating the environment. "Is this your first time at the grocery store" type stuff

Joint Statement of the Acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Netflix.
December 5, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Yeah! That’s why this whole Netflix thing is bizarre. They were in a perfect position to split and become their own entity and now they risk a regulatory nightmare and a vindictive administration for what?
I agree with this but there’s also an obvious answer where WB remains its own entity. It had an almost perfect box office run. HBO is still a crown jewel. Their streaming is now profitable and they’re spinning off the messy cable business. They could easily stay as a single company and be great!
I hate this deal but it's better for Netflix to get WBD than the Ellisons. I just need them to lose.

Netflix buying Warner would actually be the end of Hollywood. that’s it. it’ll be something else, and significantly worse. a new, really bad reality.

I don‘t think Zaz wants to sell. He’s going through the motions, angering one buyer while pretending to favor another only to respond, ”Sorry, changed my mind. I think I’ll hold on to it.“
This letter is a clear attempt to get Trump angry enough to intervene, and is thus a pretty clear signal to the entertainment community of what kind of company Paramount plans to run. I know people dread a Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros.; this would be worse. deadline.com/2025/12/para...

This would be such a disaster for the industry and would face such colossal regulatory issues to the point I'm wondering why Netflix is even doing this.
Netflix’s new bid to buy Warner Bros is a mostly cash offer.

The company is arranging a mega-loan to be able to buy WB

Sounds dramatic, but I honestly don’t believe I have been entirely whole since the ArcLight closed. Here’s hoping this is for real this time.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but the Chiefs need to make multiple changes at the coaching level. Andy’s offense is stale and predictable. Spags won’t play guys that don’t fit his mold. Special teams is just a disaster. Just coaches who have been around forever and are stuck in their ways.
November 18, 2025 at 12:02 AM
The Chiefs are 5-5 but I’m starting to think every team this year is sort of bad in different ways and no one is truly elite. Sounds like cope, but it’s a weird season all around with some poor football all around.
November 17, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Nothing would be funnier (or classic KC) than Mitchell popping off for like 75 yards and a tuddie tomorrow
The Chiefs didn't make any practice squad elevations for Week 11 vs. the Broncos. That's a good sign for some players that popped up on the injury report this week. It also signals that a 2025 free agent could be active for the first time this season in Denver.

What’s crazy is you’ll watch a bad/mediocre studio film from 30 years ago and it at least looks like it cost a billion dollars
One thing that’s kind of nice about so many new movies being bad is you can watch older mid-movies and they feel solid by comparison. Rewatched Phantom Menace and honestly, not bad

These bad teams never learn and it’s why they remain bad teams
League sources say the Bengals are still asking for a first-round pick in any deal for Trey Hendrickson at this time.

The trade deadline arrives in just over 28 hours, and teams are continuing to call Cincinnati about a number of their players. For now, prices remain high.

I know the owners have issues and debt from Covid, but reopening just as it was is biggest slam dunk in history. It doesn’t need fancy renovations. It would immediately go back to being one of the most profitable theaters in the country.
