It’s still happening.

Intersex infants being surgically ‘corrected’ to ‘fit in’ rather than a need.

Trans kids are not the ones getting surgery, it’s intersex babies.

Making a guy who owns 16 houses the shadow housing minister is truly inspiring stuff from the Libs - like the time Labor made the guy with 7 houses the regulator for landlords.

Amazing! We love to see it. Props to @risingtideaus.bsky.social for the massive effort in organising the entire People’s Blockade weekend, bringing activists from all over the country to fight climate change and the profiteering fossil fuel industry!
The NSW Socialists' forum on 'climate change and class war' ft. @purplepingers.bsky.social in conversation with Lily Campbell at Rising Tide in Newcastle yesterday drew quite a crowd. Wonderful to see so much interest in hearing a socialist perspective on the climate crisis. ❤️

the only reason it doesn’t seem like an issue to most people is because most people don’t see what accommodations for the elderly look like these days. even the very expensive old folks’ homes are disgusting and understaffed. this problem is bad now and will only continue to get worse
The part that fucks me up the most is every part of this looks set to get worse over time, not better. Forcing higher numbers of an aging population into smaller and less safe accommodation in more obscure and less resourced places over time. If it doesn't seem like such an issue now, just wait.

Thank you everyone who contacted MPs and Senator offices in the campaign to make the new nature laws stronger. We now have a new national environment law which has some important improvements but still fails the climate test. Incredulously climate pollution won't be taken into account in decisions.

But make no mistake #PayToDestroy has failed in NSW & QLD & will worsen biodiversity loss

Everyone agrees the current laws are failing, but that doesn’t mean any change is an improvement. When it comes to offsets, it’s clear things are going to get worse not better.
