Gotta love this announcer calling out Simpson’s likely concussion on replay and then also explaining why he wouldn’t miss a play.

I don’t really think shaming Dearborn, Michigan, as an entire municipality, for ”protesting” the democratic candidate really zings like the insult you think it does in September of 2025. I suspect the salience of this issue, however, is helped when you’re not a white guy slinging it around.

Again, this is what I mean when I say the Constitution is broken

Which of the institutions it establishes, exactly, ISN'T broken?? Which is acting to maintain the constitutional order?
Trump is ordering the military to use “full force” against an American city, while the Supreme Court declares him the Sun King and Congress hides under a pile of coats.

The checks and balances only work when the institutions aren’t run by utter cowards and the complicit

if we are going to have online magazines for Abundance, i think a wealthy patron should fund an online magazine for electoral reform — specifically for furthering the twin causes of proportional representation and democratic revival. seems like a comparatively neglected space

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this way of thinking is refusing to acknowledge the implications of what he’s saying here. If this is “standard fare MAGA Republicanism” what else does that mean? An unwillingness to take the next logical step.
"Much of what I would describe as Kirk's worst moments were now just standard fair MAGA Republicanism. And the leader of MAGA Republicanism is the President of the United States...we are going to have to live here with each other believing what we believe. Disagreeing in the ways we disagree."

what ezra doesn't seem willing to accept is that charlie kirk was part of a political movement that does not think that "we are going to have to live here with each other" and is fact very interested in the elimination and/or subjugation of many, many people
"All I can say for me in the work I do is that I want to create a space that takes our disagreements seriously, that takes the stakes of them seriously, the consequences for people seriously, but does so without deepening our divisions irreparably. We are going to have to live here with each other"
