Yep. That about sums it up. What did Starmer do when the Daily Mail demonstrably lied about him? Sue them? No. He took it on the chin, as we are all expected to do on this side of the political spectrum. It’s an uneven playing field with one set of rules for them & another for the rest.

Starmer has put the Government behind the BBC, describing it as an "internationally renowned" institution. It rejected allegations that the broadcasting service is "institutionally biased" and said it is important the BBC acts to maintain trust.

This sort of result simply reflects the differing fairness between the left and the right.
The right are so so good at blindly opposing everything and sticking to message discipline of their "side".
The left are far more fair. It's sad but true.

Disappointing to see some partisan bias though of course expected.
But you would NEVER ever have 40% of either Con voters or Reform voters taking the position that it was right to resign if the error had been regarding a left-wing figure.
That is the difference.

I totally agree with this although Kuenssberg was also very blatantly too close to Boris Johnson.
But yeah mediocrity is exactly it. Just take a look at Newscast— possibly their weakest political output with Mason 🤮, Kuenssberg 🤮 and Fleming 🤮. Awful.

I don't think it bias at the BBC, it's mediocrity. Laura K is a lazy interviewer. Chris Mason is a bland over promoted 'won't rock the boat' political editor, R4 today hasn't got one decent presenter, good programmes have been axed or gutted - see Newsnight etc. And on and on...
