UK Labour Member. We won. Now let’s deliver. But taking money off vulnerable people is not the answer to the country’s problems. So let’s not do that 🫡

This Sky News story should be “Reform backer spreads lies about UK population growth since 2020 to push a false narrative about the UK being colonised”. As that is exactly what he did and exactly what Sky News allowed him to get away with.

It is critical there is NOT a change in PM in the UK.

If there was, it would start the calls for a general election for the new PM to get their own mandate.

Replacing the PM THIS YEAR is part of Farage and the far rights plan to force a general election on 2027. New PM in 2026 and the GE in 2027.

We don’t have a functioning democracy when the people who lied to our faces to ‘get Brexit done’ are never held to account for the damage they’ve caused… and, worse still, are rewarded for life, for cynically or moronically selling our country out.

They deserve nothing but our contempt. Forever.
Toby Young, Matthew Elliott, Daniel Moylan, Claire Fox, Daniel Hannan, Michael Gove, Therese Coffey (a Brexit convert), Paul Goodman, John Moynihan, Ruth Lea, Stewart Jackson, Michael Hintze, Charles Moore, David Frost, Theo Agnew; & now John Redwood.

Rewarded for the Brexit calamity with peerages.
Ex Tory MP John Redwood has been made a peer, as Lord Redwood on 31 January, and was formally introduced in the Lords on Tuesday

This should be headline news in the UK for several weeks, if not longer...until we know exactly WHO in the UK was involved in this and we see them brought to account!

No one should bring down a UK government unless they are part of the UK parliament.

No one in the media.

No one from abroad!

So, I wrote a Substack. I haven't done so for monetary gain, just as a way to share my thoughts in more detail. I'd appreciate any feedback, as this is my first attempt at a thinkpiece.

To quote David Mitchell from his book, ‘Dishonesty is the Second Best Policy’:

“Mentioning immigration doesn’t necessarily mean you’re racist but, if you could take out an insurance policy against being racist, ‘mentioning immigration’ would put your premiums up”

This is way more positive about the state of high streets than I would have expected, given the discourse around it
With the government announcing a £150m regeneration fund for high streets, just 35% of Britons with a high street in their area believe it's in a good state

Good state: 35%
Neither: 21%
Bad state: 43%

To be clear they approached the debating society.

Who does thar?

I'll tell you - people who are deliberately engineering controversy in the hope that it will get talked about on talk radio stations and GB News
Reform UK approached Bangor University to ask whether Sarah Pochin (Reform MP) could come to debate. They said no, and this is the response they get

Reform would behave exactly as Donald Trump. Don't agree with them, and they will penalise, threaten, defund, and cancel you. They are proto fascists.

This administration is a criminal administration.
Rep. Kennedy: "Do you believe your agency has a legal obligation to follow court orders?"

ICE Director Lyons: "Yes."

Rep. Kennedy: "You have a very strange way of showing it, with a federal judge finding that your agency is in violation of 96 orders in one month alone."

Farage claims his failed-Tory recruitment drive is because he needs people with experience of govt.
What he really means is - experience of lying. Repeatedly and shamelessly.
He has a stellar line-up with Braverman, Zahawi and the v practised, ‘Honest Bob’.
What a grim bunch of grubby little cheats.

Support for Starmer has been very high.

Anger against the BBC Politics trio Mason, Kuensberg & Zefferman has been equally high.

I think we must vote with our off switch as well as Complain in writing. If that doesn’t work we must cancel our TV Licence.
