The dogs on planes thing is a great example because it was being so widely abused that now airlines cracked down and now require you to document that it's a trained support dog, placing a burden on disabled people bsky.app/profile/flas...
My case would be that it’s enough that you’re regularly seeing it (ie people with their dogs in the store/on planes), and that it going unchecked is damaging to the proverbial social contract.

It feels like a huge erasure of the time disabled ppl and parents of disabled ppl lose to adm that is ALREADY too onerous to have this conversation be about how to keep out the very small amount of students who may not need them. As both a disabled person and the parent of 2, I don’t care!

What do the editors of this magazine think their job is?

"Too many kids are getting extra time on tests!" should immediately be followed by "how many kids are getting extra time on tests?" If you don't know, either find out or write about something you do know.

My mother complained for years about how disappointed she was that she didn't have grandchildren (my sister doesn't want kids and I didn't get married until I was 36). Now that she has two grandchildren, she barely sees them because she cannot tolerate more than an hour or two around my daughter.
