People leaders: Tell somebody they did good. Give out a kudos or two. It's so easy to get caught up on the "not enough" "more! more! faster! faster!" and not acknowledge what's going right.

without section 230, you could have a world where bluesky is liable for me calling this man a clueless, tech illiterate, fascist enabling motherfucker
It’s time to repeal Section 230. We must be able to take social media companies to court for addicting kids and enabling drug trafficking on their platforms.
Sen. DURBIN: Fentanyl often gets to our kids and young people through the internet.

Section 230 absolves social media companies from any responsibility. “That has got to end.”

As an offshoot of this thread, let’s talk about what happens if federal, state, or local officials text, email, call, or show up at your door wanting to talk to you about what you said about the President.

I have a theme, a thesis, a throughline, a leitmotif, which is SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH.

This is a First Amendment question combined with a practical question. The answer is as follows.

First, the First Amendment protects advocating the moral and practical necessity of breaking the law in the abstract.

Being a lawyer and all, do you know what the tipping point is for it to become acceptable to openly advocate for political assassinations? Just a little curious, is all.

And a lot of racist folks
aren't smart enough to understand that DEI means finding talent wherever it is. Which means that DEI means you hire more cis white men too. 🙂🙃

But they're different cis white men.

If you're really smart, but white and poor? You often wind up in the military. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Teachers and schools need to know that we are not required to give up our kids. We do not have to open our doors to ICE or the police. Morally, obviously, but also legally. We are our students' legal guardians when they are in our care and we should be making the right call for students' safety.
ICE showed up Friday morning to Hamline Elementary School, located in the New City neighborhood, principal Natasha Ortega said at a news conference.

“We will not open our doors for ICE, and we are here to protect our children and make sure they have access to an excellent education,” Ortega said.
